i cannot seem to stop C drive from fragmenting after every boot up. i use diskeeper and it always seems to have fragmented files after i do a restart.

is it normal to have that happen on your windows partition so frequently?!?

i have the following:

one raptor set in 2 partitions the OS on a 40gig one and the rest set aside for games.

i have two IDE drives that i just use for storage and a small page file.

A pirate walks into a bar, and he's got a steering wheel sticking out of his pants. The bartender sees him and asks, "Hey, what's that steering wheel doing there?" The pirate says, "Aaarrrr, it's driving me nuts."

[EDIT] Sorry, it was just the first thing that popped in to my head when I saw the thread title. I don't know the answer to your question but I'm sure others wil help you.

To try to answer your question, I suppose that it depends on what you mean by fragmented...a little or alot? Anytime that a drive is read or written to, you can expect minor fragmentation, but I suspect that you mean more than that.

try auslogics disk defrag (it's free!):

works really well for me. I used to use diskeeper but found it really slow. :thumbdwn:
