There have been rumors of cheaper high end cards for at least a year and they never seem to materialize.... unless you count the 9800GTX (which I wouldn't since we've had better cards for over a year).
I think its just wishful thinking.

So, >500E in the EU.
It should cost 323E at the actual change (1E = 1.54US$).
Hmm - I will buy a single 9900GTX if it has the rumoured 512-bit bus, 1GB memory, and outperforms my 2x8800GTX. I am tired of crappy SLI support at this point.

i dunno theoretically my 9800 gtx shouldnt be stomping my 8800 gtx but it does. Based on every bench out there it shouldn't but again it does. It might be the 775 oc. Not sure but every resolution its killing my 8800gtx lol. It feels so much more stable/smooth to me. The frames arent fluctuating as much. So to me the 9800 is a better card then the 8800 gtx. For my needs. But yes im really looking forward to the d10u.
512bit bus + 1gig memory + 32rops = $499?
That math doesnt add up.
