OK, here it is....I think?

Does that really say 102-104 for your core temps? I think we found the issue.
I would reseat your heatsink before doing anything else at all, something is pretty wrong there. I would also make sure you have some kind of airflow through the case.
Dat pretty warm...:p
EDIT: Just noticed it's set to Fahrenheit:o
Try the ram next.
I did that stress test, I cut & copied the error, I have no idea what it means? But...here it is.
1:FATAL ERROR: Final result was A9961C58, expected: 685B792E.
1:Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file.

My first bet would be ram. Try removing the 2 sticks as I suggested earlier. Just be certain you ground yourself first before touching the components. Leave the 2 yellow slots in, maybe try a quick overclock afterwards. That will give you the fastest indication if that's the issue.
Either way, whether it works or not with only 2 sticks, try the other 2 you pulled after. If it still works, then we know your mobo doesn't like 4x1gb sticks. If it doesn't work with any of the 2 sticks in there, I would consider setting up an RMA for the mobo.
OK! So I did exactly as you said (removing the two sticks or RAM) and so far so good! No crashes. I overclocked it to 1.93GHz Temps at 110/110 on idle.
What I did find is, the RAM was extremely hot to the touch. I don't know how that should feel so it could be normal?
It shouldn't be that hot...my Mushkin gets pretty warm, but not hot. How's your cases airflow?
Oh yeah, Isn't that XMS2 supposed to be 1.8v?
Maybe next time you reboot, just double check the specs on your ram, and what's actually showing in your bios. It should be 1.8, but may be higher for some reason. That could account for extra heat.
If this works for you...when you can I would suggest selling the 4 1gb sticks and grabbing some decent 2x2 for your 4gb. XP will still use up to 3.25gb, so in memory intensive apps it wouldn't be a waste.

No. It's not normal. Are you overclocking the ram at all?
My ram is slightly underclocked so it can be synced with the FSB, but I've never noticed my ram feeling even slightly hot.
Probably a bad stick. retest the stress test on the supposed "bad stick" and see if your theory holds true.
EDIT: I've had my computer on without restart for several days now, and the ram feels mildly warm to the touch. Your ram definitely shouldn't be really hot though.

Not sure about the "1.8v" but, I shut it down & one of the stick or RAM was hotter than the other, so I replaced it with another. Hope I didn't hurt anything by it running so hot.
The E6300 max temp is 61.4 C?
OK, so I ran Need For Speed ProStreet for a while, shut the computer down and touched the RAM, both are at the same temp & warm to the touch, much cooler than it was.
Can I run 3 sticks or RAM?
Do you have some 2x2 you would like to suggest?
THANKS!
EDIT: I did a stress test & the processor reached 62C at 1.96GHz
Sounding better and better. :D
Those temps aren't too bad for a stock cooler. If you are planning on going much higher, a better cooler or better airflow in the case will help tremendously.
I wouldn't recommend 3 sticks if overclocking. It might work, but will more likely be flakey.
Based on feedback here and what I've read I would go with G Skill, Mushkin, or I've heard A-Data is good ram also.
Here's some just to browse..

For what it's worth, if you're staying on XP and just mostly game, email surf etc...2Gb is really fine. If moving to Vista 4 will show a difference.
Yea! At least it was easy enough. I have been reading online in a few places that the processors max temp is 61.4C at 1.86GHz, what is the max that I can go? 61.4C? It's kinda confusing.
Thanks for helping me out & troubleshooting with me!!!:)
Personally I get nervous at 50c and above. My E4600 is dead on 3ghz using an Ultima 90 heatsink and a silent Zalman 92mm fan, and maxes out at 44c.
Others here may feel differently, but 50c is my max even though more is safe. Depending on the airflow in your case, all you may need is a better fan setup.
Can you post a pic of your case with the side open? Better cooling may be easier than you're thinking.
EDIT: From what I can see, I think you are right about the max temp for that proc.

Yep, a fan at the front for intake and one at the rear for exhaust will do wonders for you. I looked over the specs and didn't see what size fan it takes though, almost looks like 80mm. Fortunately they are easy to come by, lots of staples, bestbuys etc usually carry some. Screw them in, plug em in and you'll be running a good bit cooler.
If I were you, for now, I'd leave my side panel off and keep gaming. :)

I don't think they list a specification on the fan size? I can't find one. Looking at some on New Egg there is a lot of different air flow rates and things....computers are so complicated lol!
I'm going to get two fans, one in & one out like you said, over clock it to 2.0GHz and watch the temp. After that I will look into a CPU fan.

Just a thought, if you aren't overclocking much the retail cooler actually does a pretty respectable job. You can latch onto a decent case with good cooling for less than the cost of 2 fans and a new cpu heatsink.

I use the above case for one of mine and while it isn't high performance, it is solid and cools well with the 120 in the rear. Plug another into the front slot later and you would be set.
Lots of options, especially if you aren't going to crank the cpu way up.
Yea that's a good thought!
I just got off the phone with the guy who originally built my computer and he says that computer is not really made for overclocking. It's really hard to get information out of him & he's a nice guy and all just not always the most helpful.
I want to be able to overclock it to 3GHz if possible nothing more.
Here is the exact bare bones computer he got me.

The chip under the black Asus heatsink is probably getting too hot, See about a Zalman Passive NorthBridge Cooler ZM-NBF47
And maybe some little heatsinks on whatever else is hot.
And before you put a 120mm fan at the back ,Cut out the grill.
Also move that super long ide cable out of the way of the front fan (when you install one)

For $79 USD that's not bad at all.
Things to watch for if you plan on playing some of the latest games..
I decent graphics card - think 9600GT or better + overclocking your cpu to 3ghz will likely push that power supply to the edge. Most bundled PSUs in less expensive systems probably won't deliver max rated load for long.
XDanger makes a good point about the northbridge too, they get HOT when overclocking.
What specifically is going to be the main purpose of your rig, gaming?
If so, the 9600GT and a more solid power supply would be the best start..my opinion only.
9600GT (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130334)$149.99
Better PSU (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341012) $59.99
Fans (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835180085)for existing case x 2. $6.99 Each.
Just tossing some ideas out there for you to consider while keeping a reign on the cash going out....

Ive just seen the case has a duct , Take off the duct and put a 120mm (assuming the position of the holes) fan there but with a dust filter ,Then put the duct back on top of that
If you do that you might need a fan controller to get the balance right.
Or you could have the duct fan as your main air intake and the front and rear fans both as air out-takes (weird)

Here is the card I purchased a few months back before I ever thought of overclocking.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150229
Main use is gaming & surfing the internet. He did say that the power supply is not made for overclocking.
I think I really need to think about all of this before I do anything, I have a bad habit of getting carried away with electronics. If you seen my main stereo system you would know what I'm talking about lol.

I feel your pain.
I oveclocked it to 2.10GHz & run Orthos and the temp stays the same as if I never overclocked it?? I'm using speedfan and coretemp with identical readings.

Not bad...my temps with a 600mhz overclock aren't much higher than at stock. From what I've read that stock cooler will handle a pretty decent overclock. Just take it slow and keep an eye on the temps. As long as you don't up the voltage you should be able to get a 4-500mhz clock increase out of that.
