View Full Version : nVidia Corporation NV17 [GeForce4 420 Go 32M] with Kernel 2.6.25

Hi All,

my System is a HP Pavilion zv5265ea Laptop with
Debian Etch 64bit. I am using a self compiled Kernel 2.6.25
from kernel.org.

My Graphic Card is a Geforce4 420 Go 32M also known as NV17.

My Problem is that the Nvidia Driver from the Manufacture Nvidia.com
do not work after a Reboot, but the Installation was successfull and the Nvidia Driver
did work after the Installation.
</etc/init.d/gdm stop>
Installation of Nvidia Driver
</etc/init.d/gdm start>
Nvidia Driver works!
<reboot>
Nvidia Driver do not work anymore


I patched the Nvidia Driver from Nvidia.com as shown in this Thread,
