Just built a rig with an Evga 9800 GX2. In 3Dmark06 it shows that Total Local Video Memory is 504mb. Isn't that half of what I should be seeing or am I looking at it wrong? I changed to dual GPU's in the Nvidia panel. My device manager also shows x2 9800GX2's under displays.

Thanks for any help.

Threads like this are always painful...unfortunately you fell for nvidia's marketing scheme, the 9800 GX2 is just like any other SLI config. The max video memory is only that of one GPU, so your "1GB" GX2 is two 512MB gpu's in SLI, therefore it can only physically use 512MB. It's unfortunate, but completely normal.

Yep. Dual GPUs doesn't mean double the available memory.

You could have 8 of those things working together in 16-way SLI and they'd still only have 512Mb of memory to work with.
