Just bought an ASUS V9560/TD FX5600 board should I expect an improvement in OpenGL performance over my ASUS V9280TD Ti4200 board?

thanks

5600 should be slighlty more performant than a 4200 in OpenGL, by a larger margin in DX.
Bu hen why don't you run some tests yourself?

There isn't a 5600 Ultra that I know of :wtf:

I just figured that somebody else had already benched these two and maybe there was a chart or graph somewhere.

I don't think you will see any improvment myself maybe even a performance degrade unless FSAA or AF is enabled.

Yes. gfFX5600 is faster than gf4Ti with FSAA. Maybe with AF too. And certainly with both enabled. In raw speed, it is slower.

the ti4200 is about 10% faster than the fx5600 ultra withoutfsaa and with fsaa, the radeon9500 pro is like 35% faster

overall the GF4TI's are faster than the 5600 in most benchmarks, but the big exception to that is 3dmark2k3, meaning that any DX9 games on the 5600 should perform SIGNIFICANTLY better than a GF4TI. So all is not lost... except for the fact that 3dmark2k3 is the only dx9 app right now  LOL :D

It will pull ahead with FSAA and AF, but that's only because of it's mem bandwidth.

Don't discount the gfFX5600's color compression. That boosts FSAA scores.
