I won $5 picking the Spurs tonight, but I rooted for the Hornets anyway.

I was pretty disappointed that the Hornets lost.
But it's ok, the Spurs will get reamed by the Lakers and the reigning MVP. :)
Hornets vs Lakers would've been too easy a series anyway. The Spurs vs Lakers will prove to be a more interesting match up, but in the end, I think the Lakers firepower, all around effective bench, and the headaches trying to contain Bryant, Gasol, and Odom will prove to be too much for the Spurs.
Also, I hope the Celtics crash and burn against Detroit.
Hornet's couldn't buy a bucket.
Oh well, next series should be fun and I might go watch games 3 and 4 in SA.
Hooray for corporate discounts on tickets ;)

I hope we don't see Spurs/Pistons in the finals, but I feel it is inevitable.

Yea, because stupid ass Pargo kept trying to be a super hero. Why on earth they did not pull Pargo from the game is beyond me. He never passed the ball. Every time he touched it, he shot. The hornets had a shot at winning the game and blew it.
Thanks Pargo.

Pargo sparked the entire team in the 4th quarter, and was the sole Hornet who gave them a chance to win. He was a man possessed until he missed that 3 pointer. Therefore, your comment is idiotic.

Pargo?
More like David West.
What did he miss, like 7 or 8 straight shots?
And he kept forcing it up instead of fighting for a better shot.
Only Kobe Bryant should be allowed to force up shots, because he usually makes them :D Heck, through CP3 into there too.

Comment is idiotic? Wow. Please explain to me then why it is? And also, why you choose to be such a jerk?
Pargo went 6 for 18. Most all of those shots were in the 4th quarter(most MISSED i might add). I saw the entire game. Pargo did not pass at all. He tried to "take over" the game by himself and he is a BENCH WARMER. Apparently you saw a different game than I did. Its also apparent you were never taught manners.

David west wasn't great either. However, i feel a hell of alot more comfortable with him having the ball than "Pargo".
What I want to know is.... why did Chris Paul barely touch the ball? He took maybe 3 shots in the entire 4th quarter.

LOL, he came in off the bench and hit several shots in a row and brought the Hornets right back. He successfully took over the game until he missed that 3, which could have been his shining moment and he blew it. He was by far their best player in the 4th quarter, which is why knocking his performance is idiotic.

Totally agree with your D West analysis... EVERY time he went aggressively to the basket he scored. But when he starts getting passive and shooting the mid-range jumper, he missed. It almost seemed like he was too tired to make the moves to get by the defense, or maybe lazy.

for some stupid reason, lakers feel underdog compared to spurs.

Yeah to me the Lakers are one of the underdogs. They started this season with a bleak outlook, and even though they acquired Gasol through that robbery trade, it doesn't necessarily mean they will win championships. But Kobe brought up his game, and Gasol melded well with their team.
They were not the underdogs in the first round against the Nuggets, but there were plenty of people who though the Jazz would take them out. The Spurs are still considered to be a better team than the Lakers, so in a sense, they are the underdogs in this matchup.
And if the Celts win and Lakers win, we all know everyone expects the Celtics to take it, even though they played like crap in a few vital games vs. two underdogs. However, if they keep on playing they like they had on the road, the Pistons might take them out.

The Spurs spent the night on the tarmac last night... LOL
When the San Antonio Spurs eliminated the New Orleans Hornets from the playoffs Monday night, they figured the hard part of their journey to the Western Conference finals was over.
Turns out it was only beginning.
In one of the more bizarre travel stories, the Spurs ended up spending the night on the tarmac at New Orleans airport.
The team had planned to fly to Los Angeles after the game, but arrived at the airport to find their flight had mechanical problems. With a cable convention crowding the city’s hotel rooms, the team couldn’t find any place to spend the night.
Some of the players slept on the plane while others moved to buses on the tarmac.
The team left New Orleans around 6:30 a.m. And arrived in Los Angeles a few hours later. The Spurs will have only a brief shootaround on Wednesday morning before opening the conference finals against the Los Angeles Lakers that night.

going 6 for 18 is hardly "taking over the game". He missed 66% of his shots and most of his misses were in the 4th quarter. I suggest you rewatch the 4th quarter. There was a time when he was 5 for 9 during the 4th quarter. That means he made 1 more shot out of the next 9. Thats terrible.

Maybe you watched a different game. Admittedly his game stats weren't great, but Pargo's impact on the 4th quarter was the catalyst for N.Orleans to have a chance. This is from the summary:
Buoyed by a home crowd that stood throughout the fourth quarter, the Hornets fought back to make a game of it, largely behind Pargo, who had done little in this series. He scored seven straight on four free throws sandwiched around a 3-pointer, pulling the Hornets to 81-77 with 3:10 to go.
Pargo made another 3 to cut it to 83-80 with about 1 1/2 minutes left, then attempted another for the tie with a minute left, but it rattled out.
Parker drained a jumper on the other end with 50 seconds left to make it 85-80, and New Orleans could not recover.

I'm not saying he's their best player, but he was the best thing they had going in the 4th... D West looked lost, and CP3 seemed unwilling to take over.

lol Pargo was the only person to shoot in the 4th quarter. Of course he was the only person with an impact. He didn't give anyone else a chance!
