Yes, it's finally coming - the NVIDIA GPU client we have all wanted since first seeing and tasting the power of the ATI GPU Folding@Home client.

Vijay Pande, the man behind the Folding@Home project, was on hand to demonstrate the first showing of the NVIDIA GPU client.

I don't think I'll be spoiling anything by saying the new GPU was incredibly fast and the upcoming GPU will be faster than any Folding client today including the PS3; you will be impressed.

Seems like a good way to run up the electric bill and burn up your $600 video card. Though it could heat a small room pretty easily.:o

Pegging one of these things at 100% usage for days on end just seems like a bad idea to me.

Why did it take so long for them to develop this? ATI's had a tool out for years now.

Maybe there were more concerned about kicking AMD's butt! :afro: Folding is a worthy cause and with this performance level perhaps the wait was worth it.

I think if this was true, we would have heard this from the ATI community. i havent heard anything about shortning the life span of the GPU's, have you?
