no mater what you decide, wait at least 30-45 days.

NV is announcing/releasing their 10th gen cards next month: the 260 and 280. possibly double the performance of current cards. (go read up in the rumor mill section in this forum)

when these new ones come out, prices on all current cards will drop significantly.

I have the 8800GTX OC, and all performance tests give me a good advantage because of the extra ram, but only in higher resolutions and higher settings.

your selection should take into account your gaming screen resolution. You will need more ram to have the extra pixels, and more/powerful stream processors to fill them.

Toms hardware has some pretty good comparisons.

the net will be flooded with comparison reviews in a few short weeks.

expect some fire sales starting soon to clear inventory. if you can, hold out.
patience.. it wall save you some real $$$, and/or get you better than you can afford this week.

One last note: Whats your CPU/MB/RAM like? If they also need upgrading you won't seen much difference as you will be CPU limited; just as I was before my latest upgrade. ( AMD X2 4200 @ 2.2gz to intel e8400@ 3.6gz )

Hey thanks for the heads up but to wait another month is too long and I stay in South Africa which means ill wait 2months for my card and prices dont drop here in SA if they do its abt 5-10 dollars depending on how much it costs to bring into South Africa, But I might just wait

Buying now would be like buying a 2 pound bag of lunchmeat that expires the next day.
