if i was into PVP still i might. the game lost it's fun for me a long time ago somewhere between kill 6 of these and bring me 10 of those.

pvp was the only thing interesting after that, and to many retard players ruin it for me atm

WoW was fun...but I'm really amazed that it is still doing well. Everyone I know dropped their subscriptions months ago.

there really isnt anything else out there, AoC was the only new mmo to come out but its not going to hurt WoW numbers. I honestly dont see anything hurting WoW other then blizz themselves at this point, people are getting tired of the same old things, but for most they rather stay with WoW then to start a character over doing the same thing. I havent really played since Feb and dont plan to get back into it until wrath comes out probably, but Im getting bored of the game style MMO's keep leaning towards, I want something new thats not quest driven... collect, kill, escort quests are old and its the main reason I couldnt get into AoC, the quests just didnt interest me.

I wouldnt mind playing mmo where me and my friends from level 1 we can go right into a dungeon and have fun exploring, killing and collecting rare / random loot like the good diablo days.

It isn't about hurting wow's numbers. It is about being successful.

Man I can't believe I forgot, what is the lvl cap now ?

And everyone will create a Death Knight right off the bat, well I will :)

But it has been awhile that I have played WoW so it might be fun when the expansion hits.

firehawk... so you pretty much dont like mmo rpg games in general, and even online game? ;)

Everyone who plays wow..will get the expansion. Its not likely to bring in new players though. I'm sad that blizzard is neglecting its low level game though. Everquest was able to bring in new players and revitalize the interest of making alts because most of its expansions offered tons of low and mid level zones along with its high end raid content. Blizzard hasn't added any new 1-60 content, some of it has become useless (lvl 60 raids) because of attunements and the now bunk 40 man requirements.

If blizzard has realised this yet, I'm not sure, how ever they made death knights start at lvl 55, so that could be saying alot. Maybe they figured not to many would bother leveling another character from lvl 1 again.

The game was good back ages ago..i played soo many hours on this game..After Season 3 Arena came..i felt it was a bit boring.....the lack of graphics update/etc or new arena types or a more new bg or something to keep it in interesting as pvp was my main interest in the game...

I played since day one and only recently did i cancel my subs...expired on May 19th :O...

I don't think i will be getting into it either...i no longer have the time needed in order to advance in the game due to work/studies...before i hardly did any work...let alone studies -.-...dark years...

I had some really good times with the game though, met alot of people overseas and in Australia which i pvp'ed with...good times...but all good times must come to an end ><..luckily the game did that on its own for me..

I quit WOW this week after playing since December 2004, and I have absolutely NO plans on getting the expansion. The first expansion was a huge leap in the wrong direction, and I honestly see nothing worth my time in the next one. Warhammer Online will be out by then anyways and it looks to be a game that appeals more to the way I want to play.

nah...i did. they can be fun with the right people still, but even then i don't play for the game. i play to hang out and have a fun time just shooting the ****.

once you do the same thing 3 times (i ended up with 3 70's :|) you suddenly realize your just doing the same three tasks over...sorta like when your a kid and you realize santa isnt real...thats sorta how it was for me.

i just need a "new" type of mmo to get me interested again

I'll follow the news about WotLK but currently I don't plan on playing WoW again. We'll see.

depends on how much pvp content there is. I mean what, 4 years later and we still have 4 BG maps, 3 lame arena maps and hardly any world pvp objectives. Pretty pathetic on their part being that cash cow they have and have added **** for content.

So yes, if it's a worth while xpack, I'll reactivate my account possibly and play some more. Like the others tho, havent been following this though, so maybe there is a crap load of content. Graphical update would be nice also.

I'll admit, im currently in a guild who is currently working on reliquary of souls, so we have the means and the manpower to do end game content and are working our way to new content for us, if your not in a guild that is really doing anything more then kara and struggling for people to start 25 man's, it can get pretty stale.

well not everyone wants to PVE. I bought this game for a freaking war and have yet to see it since the old days of 2 full raid groups raping main cities. I'm just COMPLETELY disappointed in the path the WOW devs have taken with pretty much every aspect of the game.

I agree completely. The arena system and resilence was what turned me off of WOW the most. I also got bored with it though, as they added armor sets they never really changed anything in the actual PVP content. The PVE content in TBC was bad in my opinion too. It wasn't as strategically laid out as MC, AQ etc.. not to mention the time consumption that a lot of us just don't have anymore. And don't get me started on dailies and farming gold just to get a faster flying mount. I just started playing AOC and it is great so far. If they continue to improve it I will stick with it.

Left wow in beginning of july, took 4 friends with me. All of us went to Lotro. All of us think Lotro is the much better game.

Wow had its days pre BC.

PVP/Arena killed wow for all of us.
The community killed wow for us
The destruction of the paladin from 1.9 forward ruined wow for me.

Goodbye wow. You had many chances to keep your player base. But they are leaving and leaving fast and all the ones i know that left aint comin back expansion and all.

I've tried to go to Lotro a few times but never could get into it. Maybe it's because nobody I know plays it.

After reading up a lot more on the xpac I have decided I will def be getting it.
mainly because I have tried several other MMO's and NONE of them even came CLOSE to wow for me.
So..I have 3 70's and Im still having fun with them...come WOTLK I will have 10 more levels with each of them and a whole lotta fun in the new content hopefully.

I will still however be getting Warhammer aswell.....although i know someone who is playing Beta, and so far....hes not as impressed as he thought he would be.

So...time will tell I guess.

I love WoW. I wish I had more time to play it.

Have tried LOTRO a few times to. It's a great game, just something is missing and it doesn't quite suck me in.

fixed..

Was fun while it lasted, until everything turned to **** and the server went offline.

PVP/Arena killed wow for all of us.
Arena was a very important addition to the game. No MMO can survive off PvE alone, there will always be a potential player base that wants to focus on PvP. Arena brought in a "Fair" system that was still gear dependent, but removed external factors like potions and number differences.

The destruction of the paladin from 1.9 forward ruined wow for me.
What? Paladins are in check? Wow, that sucks. Sorry you're not vastly overpowered healers anymore. But have you looked at Ret or Prot? THEY'RE VIABLE NOW! Unlike original WoW. Paladin healers still play an improtant role as the primary MT healers, they're still the most efficient.

Hell, run Hyjal without a Prot pally. Its not nearly as brain dead easy.

You had many chances to keep your player base. But they are leaving and leaving fast and all the ones i know that left aint comin back expansion and all.
WoW Player base continues to rise. Granted War still hasn't launced, but even if they take a million players, WoW would still be top of the crop. Its a giant.

Sh*t you don't even need two full raids. My server is relatively low pop and merely bringing a 20 man raid into darnassus causes the server to crash every time.

I dunno I still laugh at ret paladins who ask to be on my arena teams, and I don't think I've ever brought a ret paladin to a pve raid; their dps just sucks. Honestly I've never seen anything good come from that spec; easily the most worthless in the game.

I get some paladins who try to argue "well ret does good in 3v3 in 1900+" sorry I just haven't seen it. In my battlegroup there is only one ret paladin in the top 40 teams. I don't care how much damage you can do and how much armor you have, if your only forms of cc are short duration and have horribly long cooldowns and you can't apply any kind of healing debuff you're pretty much worthless, especially given that once you run out of mana your dps really takes a dump. There's a good reason why this spec is known as retardin.

Now prot and holy? That is a different thing entirely. I love bringing prot paladins to raids, and holy paladins can be used for everything pve and pvp.

I think protection pallies can do as much damage from their protection spells as ret pallies. :D Every time you hit a protection pally you get hurt.

Good lord how long has it been since you've played WoW? :p

Ret Pallies are doing some pretty respectable damage these days and in Wrath they're going to be a full-fledged DPS class complete with crowd control for instances.

we have a holy pally that goes emo every now and then and specs ret and does very competative damage. I mean its nothing like the two top hunters in the guild...(be nice to beat them again in dps)
