Arctic Cooling has now announced a new CPU cooler, ready to taken on the heat of both our processors and the hot summer days. Dubbed Freezer XTREME, the cooler measures 130 (L) x 100 (W) x 131 (H) mm and makes use of a twin tower heatsink with 102 aluminum fins, four double-sided copper heatpipes and a 120mm fan. The fan itself works at speeds between 800 and 1500 RPM and has an air flow that goes from 35.7 to 60.7 m3/h.
Weighting in 608 grams, the Freezer XTREME is claimed to have a cooling capacity of up to 160 Watts but lucky for us the supported LGA 775, Socket 939, AM2 and AM2+ processors (at stock speeds) don't come too close to that value. The new cooler comes with pre-applied MX-2 thermal compound and is backed up by a lifetime warranty. Those who want the Freezer XTREME will have to wait until July and set aside $39.95 and 25.95 Euro (without VAT) for it.
