Hi...
i just install Ubuntu 8.04 but i don't know cause i don't can conect the pc to the net of my home.
on the console, i wrote this:
johnb@johnb-laptop:~$ iwconfig
and this is the result:
lo no wireless extensions.

eth0 no wireless extensions.

wmaster0 no wireless extensions.

wlan0 IEEE 802.11g ESSID:""

but i the "ligth" of the wireless switch of my laptop and the color is "red" thats mean that the wireless is off or the laptop don't recognize the driver.
i make this too:
johnb@johnb-laptop:~$ lsmod |grep wlan0
johnb@johnb-laptop:~$ dmesg |grep wlan0

and don't get any result.
How i can to active my wireless?

I am not an expert with Ubuntu, but it sounds like you need to configure wpa_supplicant.conf. Google search it and you should find everything you need to know.
