Which map is this, or other maps similar to this? (i.e.-tons of stuff, low-framerate, but high in graphical awesomeness)?

I think those are pre-release shots.

The game looks amazing, but I don't think it looks like that currently. Something about that ground texture\map looks much more realistic than I remember.

Nah, It's definitely a custom map. Many Crysis maps look pretty insane.

nah they are editor shots. in game doesnt look that good.

I took those shots from the the Jungle 1.1 map. You can find it in the singleplayer maps download section over at crymod.com. As you can see it's an insane looking jungle map. BTW, those were not taken in the editor.

Jupp if you crank up the AA, TSAA and resolution it sure does :)


And btw, you don't need the editor to make these kind of shots. Works ingame too so there's no such thing as "editor-shots" as you wanna call it.

Yeah, there's a thread about this mod somewhere in the Crysis forum section if I remember correctly. It wasn't fully completed at the time, but it is, IMO, the best looking mod EVAR!

The creator is still working on an updated version of the map as I recall. It's definately hard on my system. I was getting 10-15fps in those shots. I set the screenshot function to take the shots at 3840x2160 and then I scaled them down to 720p.

Yeah, you use the info in that link to set your screenshots to whatever res and quality you want. However, you still have to manually or batch convert your screenshots to 720p or whatever downscaled size you want. This is the best method for taking high quality screenshots IMO because you don't need to crank up the AA in the game. You just play it like you normally would and the performance level you normally get. When yout take a screenshot (I've bound the function to 'U') it takes the engine about a second to render the image at the resolution you set. It then saves it as a .tga file. Mine are usually around 30MBs. The downscaled images look like they've got a retarded amount of AA as you can see.

You need to rename the map folder to "island" and put it in the "levels" folder. Before you do that make sure you rename the original "island" folder to something else like "original_island" or else you'll overwrite the first level of your game. After you've done all that load up the game and in the console type "map island"

THe one I linked to earlier was like 500kb, and was a different map, and I got that same weird loading thing (the guy didn't have the spawn point). ;)
