Hi,
Most of it is said in the title, but I also want to say when hitting ctrl alt del, I get a black screen
I need to reset pc
thx
Is this before or after your desktop is fully up?
go to Control Panel -> Problem Reports and Solutions and check if you have software that is not supported.
i had problems before but found out that i was using an out-of-date version of Daemon Tools and once i updated, the freezing stopped.

speaking of D-Tools is the SPTD that causes the freezing, not D-Tools it self.
SPTD is required component of D-Tools
Dragunov, is there any info in the Event Viewer?

I don't have D-Tools installed
Disabling "Human Interface device access" in services got rid of some weird mouse behavior for me some months ago. Worth a try maybe?

Well, it's only the system who freezes completely, except the mouse
Sometimes something blocks and I still can perform other stuff, but they block aswell, then u see some screens on eachother

I would disable it anyway, at least for troubleshooting purposes, as it has been known to cause issues with some Logitech equipment.
If you have their mouseware installed, I don't believe that's fully supported in Vista yet either.
Have you tried a diagnostic startup yet?

That's safe mode, I don't think this is the same :)
Either will work. Start>run>msconfig or start>ctrl panel>admin tools>system config.
Look for the "diagnostic start up" check box, check it, hit apply and reboot.
The purpose is to run the pc without any drivers or extra services loaded. This will tell you if it's a driver issue etc.
If you run just fine with no freezes this way, then you start disabling services - like any logitech services that are running, until you find the culprit freezing your pc.
If it freezes in this mode, you possibly have a hardware issue, and this is just a symptom.

Well, sometimes it takes a good while before it happens, so I actually can use PC, so gaming, browsing, listening to music, but suddenly pc begins to freeze, u can do some more action, like right mouse button menu, etc. but they freeze aswell, just until pc freezes completely, except mouse still works
when pressing ctrl alt del, I get a black screen and that's it, I need to manually reset PC
Let it run in safe mode for a while, see if it repeats. Hopefully it doesn't, that would mean a simple driver or services or software problem.
Godd luck with it, that has to be frustrating as all heck.

Very frustrating
Still doing it in safe mode?

I just try a new beta driver for my X-fi, it seems it solves program and system freezes
Fixes:
- Resolves issues of intermittent and random application/system crash when playing games or running applications that use EAX®, DirectSound®, OpenAL and/or ASIO features.
Glad you got it sorted man, hopefully no more freezes.
