ummm what?
so you dont like him because he can score a "bunch" of points and licks his lips.
If you cant get it through your skull why people "like" him, i really feel sorry for you. And BTW, i dont "like" him, i ****ing worship the very ground he walks on.

I don't like him because he is constantly trying to be Jordan. I said that in my post. I couldn't be any more clear. I also don't like the comparison between him and Jordan. He is not as good as Jordan and never will be.

I know you are trying to get a rise out of me by saying you worship him but how can you invest so much like into a person who cheats on his wife? There isn't any athlete that I worship or like beyond the limited entertainment they can provide for me while they are playing.

Kobe's legacy is finished. If he would have won he would have had a chance at true greatness - like Jordan. Jordan would have never of lost a series like this. Kobe will be remembered as a great player, but will not have a legacy.

Yeah, Kobe is a great player headed for the hall of fame there is not doubt about that. How ever he is a great scorer but not a great leader and champion. I wouldn't have said anything about him if I didn't constantly hear "greatest player on the planet" "Jordan like" or "as good as Jordan".

BTW I fully agree that Paul Pierce deserved the finals MVP. He really poured it on game 5 and had a solid game 6. Ray Allan was not far behind but there is no question he had a great series.

What this series came down to is the Celtics were by far the better team in every aspect of the game. Kudos for them for a great season and kudos to the Lakers for a great season.

I never compared him to jordan (period). I also agree he will never be as good as him.
How is he trying to be like jordan? by playing basketball and trying to achieve greatness?
I DO think he has been the best player in the NBA since Jordan....

dude, comon. I hate it when "normal people" (like you and me, unless you are Lebron ;)), start judging celebrities and sports stars by how they live their life. WHat the **** do we know? Maybe his wife was a bitch? maybe she wasnt and he's an asshole. What if 99% of sports celebrities cheat on their wives....Again, we dont know **** when it comes to their personal life....
I judge him by the only thing thats worth it, how he plays basketball.
and no, i wasnt "trying to get a rise out of you" :)

I didn't say you did and my initial post was not about you. ;)

If you cannot see how his entire game style is like Jordan's then you may be the only one on the planet besides Stevie Wonder. Everyone else sees it.

I judge him by his actions off the court. That is far more important than his ability to make a jump shot. He like so many professional athletes cheated on his wife. That is disgusting and a serious problem in professional sports.

It doesn't matter if she was nasty or she wasn't. He still cheated.

We know a lot about their personal lives. Sooner or later it comes out as a result of their actions. Besides I did not say they were all bad. I said I don't look up to them.

I don't understand why this is such a big deal to you. I don't like Kobe. I think he is fake in everything he does and so do a lot of other people. This does not mean he isn't good at basket ball. It only means we hold a low opinion of him.

Wow.. just wow... It is amazing how many people on this forum take what you say completely wrong or just don't get it. I include my self in this also.

I was only talking about why I do not like Kobe Bryant and one of the reasons is he cheated on his wife. I also said that a lot of sports stars cheat on their spouses as a reason why I don't look up to them. This does not mean that only they do it or that I only dislike them. I dislike all cheating.

Also I was never a big fan of Jordan. I thought he was a great player and leader but that was it.

I'm still blow away at how you guys constantly get what is said wrong.

Oprah's a freaking whale...

It really depends on what week you catch her on. Sometimes she's anorexic looking, sometimes jumbo whale.

Never really attractive though.

ok, explain to me. How. OK he plays aggresive and attacks the basket? he tries t jam it over people taller then him? I really, REALLY dont see how he "tries to copy" jordan, and even if he is, why is that such a bad thing. He has been the leading player in the NBA since jordan, i say he has a pretty good idea what to do.

I judge him by his actions off the court. That is far more important than his ability to make a jump shot. He like so many professional athletes cheated on his wife. That is disgusting and a serious problem in professional sports.

save yourself alot of grief and dont do that. He is not paid a ton of money to be a marriage councilor. He is paid a ton of money to shoot a orange ball into a metal hoop. As far as i am concerned, he can be ****ing monkeys IDB on weekends. As long as he is not breaking any laws or legal stuff, he can be doing w/e the hell he wants, and YEA, making a jumpshot is the only reason he reached those hights. Thats all that matters.

.....what's wrong with doing monkeys IDB on weekends?????? Damn you for judging people Bob!

Anyway, I agree with most of what you said. I think it's unfair that ANYONE who's style is remotely similar to Jordan's is automatically thrown in the 'wannabe' bin. Maybe his game just elevated and matured in that manor? Maybe in certain situations that move is the best move to get the shot in?

Fact is, EVERY NBA player now grew up watching Magic, Bird, and Jordan. Everyone wants to be like them in terms of skill. You base your desire and work ethics on theirs and go from there. Everyone needs some sort of past star to emulate, then find their own way.

Unfortunately, most people who reaches the next level will never get the respect they deserve. They will always be called the "Jordan wannabe". Lebron will face that as well when he matures and improves his game. As for anyone in the future. And that's pretty sad and shortsighted.

This isn't a debate, so there isn't anything to fail. It is an opinion. And yes you do care other wise you would not have replied. I trashed a player you like and you didn't like that. That's fine with me.
