Looking to buy a nice laptop for school this fall. I don't know much about the and their gpus, etc, looked around newegg a bit but not really sure. Want one that can handles all new games reasonably, and would prefer it it was on the lighter, compact side (but want it to be nice for games foremost so I don't have to worry about bringing my desktop).

Probably just being lazy not looking myself but all help appreciated.

How much are you looking to spend?

This seems to be what everyone is buying, Gateway P-6860FX (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8780198&type=product&id=1204332501169), its easy to upgrade the LCD to a 1920x1200 and a CPU upgrade and you'll have a high end Laptop.

What's your price range, and specific use intended?

Well I'll be using it for school and gaming. I have computer science as my major. Somewhere under $2000 for the price. That one looks pretty good actually.

so out of those two I like the smaller size, better processor, and included carrying case and mouse of the asus but the better video card, 64 bit vista (so all 4gb count), and included game of the gateway. im not sure which to get.

i have a copy of 64 bit home premium, could I use the product key from the asus with that?
