Don't like sig images. Doesn't bother me honestly. I have signature and avatars disabled ever since I joined. I hate clutter, especially considering the 1,000 words e-penis computer hardware sigs many people here have. Because I REALLY want to know what firmware you're using for your optical drive!

I hate text sigs longer than ten lines = I hate most people's sigs.

In my days as a mod here, you abided by the ten line rule period. IMO that should still be enforced but I understand there are other things right now occupying the current mod staff.

So regarding pic sigs... YES they should be safe for work so people like Q doesn't have to disable images.

That may be a tall order though considering the escalation of racy content here, which does already include pic sigs.

I mean hell, I'd like my daughter to be able to use this forum as her first non stupid-ass disney community, but I don't think I can for a while until I can explain to her about guys being guys... and camp0rz. :p

A 500x100 safe for work image (see, there's at least a restriction here on their size) is NOT that distracting, especially when it's smaller and more compact than the big obtuse text sigs here.

Q, here's a link to mine, if you can open it somehow...

http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/image.php?u=1870&type=sigpic&dateline=1212399028

It ain't so bad, and if users here could just make sure theirs aren't NSFW then you shouldn't have a problem enabling images at work.

I agree that at some forums like riceburner communities, pic sigs are huge, distracting, and retarded.

We're better than that. Let's lead by example.

Pic sigs FTW.

Yours is fine, rage. Perfect size, too.

I don't mind the ones that people have now, but its going to be abused and it'll probably be used by spammers before long. So I don't really like them.

I don't particularly like signature images as they tend to clutter up the posts. Unfortunately during the upgrade the signature setting, which was global, was moved to individual group profiles and was set to a default of on. Since signatures were not enabled before the upgrade, it makes sense to disable them after the upgrade. Another thing to put on the to-do list :)

Also get rid of the tag system... people are tagging it with retarded things.

I like my sig image, but then it got me banned on one forum, so I vote no.

Mike, it's the stupid 11-30 line text signatures that truly clutter up posts, which everyone seems to be so transparently apathetic about. Did you see what vb is limiting the sig images to? 500x100. That is definitely small, a lot smaller than the sig images of some other forums. I believe it's an evolutionary feature that should be kept. A little change is good. If you don't want a pic sig, simply don't make one. If you don't like pic sigs, don't look at them... just like how I don't look at (example) Bigman's sig.

I don't like them because I have no artistic talent and can't make cool ones. :(

I've grown quite fond of my sig pic that rage made me. I would like to vote I can keep mine, but everyone else must get rid of theirs. Will there be some sort of grandfather rule if the change is made to remove them? Like the animated avatars in the before times. In the long ago?

Since we are going to have the picture sigs maybe we should have some guildines regarding there use? IE..25 posts before one can post pictures in there sigs(this way to prevent spammers from doing so) and i think it would be a good idea to have a sticky about this in the open forum.

So far I'm not hating the pic sigs as much as I thought I would, but I suspect that's because they're limited to being smaller than most people's text sigs. The forums I can't stand are the ones that allow multiple 500x500 images in sigs where 90% of every thread is sig images.

It is another thing that I have to censor at work though. I've already removed the not work-appropriate avatars, and while I could probably just block all sig images with a RIP entry I kind of like some of them (the same reason I don't block all avatars). Time will tell whether that becomes a problem for me I guess.

I like sig images if they are SMALL. I try to keep it at 10k or lower if I can. If MikeC gets rid of them its cool either way. No animated sigs no way.

I just decided to try my signaturebar, but I guess that animated signaturebars aren't allowed. Mine is supposed to be an animated .gif, which has 3 more lines to display.

EDIT: Uploaded a .gif and it displays as a .jpeg.

Are either of these ok for sigs?

Edit: nvm - no animated and filesize limit......I fail.

Both are better than that giant text sig you are sporting. Seriously text siggers are so n00b. Get a image sig and be l33+ish.
