we'll see for sure in 2 hours, if it doesn't outbeat 9800 GX2 by at least 75% i might just end up buying a 9800 GX2 for $400 and call it a day lol

Can't wait for the "OMG teh GTX280 is teh suck" threads to start. Always high hopes, always disappointments. Sorry, not trying to be negative, I just don't get all worked up (anymore) about new GPUs until they are actually released and see real-world usage stats. I hope the new cards are what everyone thinks they will be.
Not high hopes here but i'm expected something along these lines : ~45fps @1280x1024,VH or ~37fps @1280x1024,4xAA,VH or ~35fps @1600x1200,noAA ... guess thats not much to ask!

I haven't bought a highend card since the Geforce 3 days but I think I'll go for the GTX280 this time around. Looks like a monster and if the price gets down to $500 I'll definitely get one.

So basically if you want to GTX 280 to be truly effective in Crysis at Very High with AA @ only 1650 x 1080 you need SLI/Tri SLI.......

That's very disappointing to say the least and certainly not worth the 600 $ price for a single GTX280. (if those benchs are accurate)
