When the 400MHz system bus AMD Athlon XP processors are available, will current motherboards and chipsets support them? Or will new motherboards and chipsets be available at the time of launch?

I remember from another thread that you're getting an Abit NF7-S, this board is certified to work with the 400mhz FSB Athlons.

Only boards with either the nforce2 ultra or the revision C1/A1 northbridge will be able to run at 200 fsb and be overclockable WITHOUT mods, anything else will need mods to run at 200-250 fsb stable without burning in

All nForce2 SPP run with 200/400 MHz FSB. Always have, always will. However, many motherboards did not use parts that qualify their version 1.x boards at 200/400. This promotes a product refresh to ensure the bleeding edge consumers will re-buy an official "Ultra 400" version 2.x motherboard.

No nForce2 IGP will run with 200/400 FSB without extremely good luck and cooling. The integrated GPU fubars the memory controller such that IGPs are limited to 166/333 FSB.

By the way, do you guys think an AMD Athlon XP 3200+ (400MHz system bus) will have better gaming performance than an Intel Pentium 4 3GHz (800MHz system bus)?

I think for gameing the XP3200 would be the best bet,but it should be close when the P4 goes with the 800 FSB.
