EA officially confirms that Crysis Warhead is in development at Crytek. The game is a standalone expansion pack, currently developed exclusively for the PC and powered by a new and enhanced version of the Crytek's CryENGINE 2 technology. It was also said that Crysis Warhead will feature new multiplayer content. The official web site still shows the same teaser image from yesterday.
"We were very pleased with the reception of Crysis from both gamers and media after our launch last year," said Cevat Yerli, CEO and President of Crytek. "That being said, one of the key principles of our studio is to always raise the bar. With Warhead, we are focusing on refining our storytelling and game performance, while also delivering more of the visually stunning graphics and immersive, free-roaming gameplay everyone loved in Crysis."
The story follows the Nanosuit-wearing Sergeant Sykes, also known as Psycho; one of the characters from the original. "Psycho is more brash and aggressive than his Delta Force squad mate Nomad, and players will experience his story which runs parallel to events of the original - life on the other side of the island is even more intense and explosive."
The best part is that Psycho's Nanosuit packs an even bigger arsenal of fully customizable weapons. In addition, he gets access to a range of new vehicles.
The game's slated to arrive this Fall.
PC-only, eh? Interesting. I guess Crytek's concerns about piracy subsided somewhat.
Sounds awesome!

So no plot developments... This sucks bigtime. Hopefully no alien spaceship floating this time...

Sounds good.
They're probably going to do this one and then another one that follows Prophet returning to the island.

Thank god it's no ****ty console railway shooter like Instincts.
Shipping exclusively for the PC this fall, Crysis Warhead is the first title to be developed at Crytek’s Budapest studio, and is built on a new, enhanced and optimized version of Crytek’s CryENGINE 2.

Thats your PS3 :o
Just read a slip on Guru3d.com (http://www.guru3d.com/news/ea-officially-reveals-crysis-warhead/) and I say, it got me excited! I did not see that one coming - playing as psycho... hmmmm. I always wondered where he went while he was covering you on the way to the village (school, hostage)
Time for a new GPU I guess...

Nvidia slid them a fat check. Must....sell....more....hardware.... ;)
Crytek - "Hai guyz, we is gunna stop patching our buggy game, so plz by the new game kthxbai!"
EA likes to stop patching their games before they're complete, and Crysis wasn't the first time. Not touching this game with a ten foot pole.

Nah, I skipped Crysis, so skipping a sequel/spinoff is easier :) When I see the "EA" label on a game, the first thing to go through my head is "bargain bin."

The box art has live on it? No more punkbuster? Achievements? Cross platform with the DS Lite?

EA has earned a reputation, that if you wait to buy one of their games until they release the second patch you will save about 40% off the retail price and have a somewhat working game.

not title, but franchise. I wouldn't doubt seeing the third crysis pc exclusive as well, although the console version should be well on its way by then.
