I feel like forever waited for computer upgrade, first it was Yorkfield in shortage then now it could be GT200 in shortage and what next? Bloomfield in shortage?
I got my money ready, if I cant grab one then I probably get a 4870 if it have good peformance faster than Geforce 8800GTX and Ultra for a few months until Nvidia sort out with 55nm GT200.

God dam it, they always figure out a way to make people pay $600+. I call this the Wii syndrome.

Hardly a problem its not like Nvidia is stopping production or anything , so unleass you are one of those people who camp on the street two weeks in advance before console is released :screwy:
I think these cards will be worth the wait (lee63)
I think I'll wait and see what launch day brings myself.
Others may disagree with me but isn't a site beginning with FUD just not worth panicking over?
Didnt the inq say that the g80 supposed to be in short supply too?
all rumors :) no way nvidia will let gtx 200 be in short supply
I'll snatch one the day its released :firedevil

i think i will buy 9800GX2 over this weekend. Then step-up with EVGA. might be cheaper that way, since pretty much all stores will raise the price once this hits.

You'll probably be paying as much for shipping costs as you would for price gouging.
Plus, I had a friend who was waiting for his 7900GT stepup for a month because it was in high demand.
I am not surprised in the least, the core is huge! yeilds are very low, so there will be a shortage and the corst will be phenomal due to the wasted cores. I would expect maybe an estimate 20,000 for the globe. You can bet the RRP of $600 will be considered cheap once these come out expect atleast $700.
This is all lies, its a marketing plot to basically justify the much higher expected price they want to put on them.
Well ... I am going to hang on to my 8800GTX untill we get a Refresh (55nm). 8800GTX is getting very cheap and is very good value.... Talk about value with a 280GTX :headexplode:

Saw quite a few in stock at Newegg this morning. No 260s though.

Talk about value with a 280GTX :headexplode:Is there a current 55nm rumor? I remember Nvidia going straight from 130 to 90 skipping over 110 while ATI used 110nm for their mid range x800 (don't recall the suffix, xl maybe?), so I figured Nvidia would again skip straight to 45nm.
No, I'm not too sure I got my transistor size history correct.

About the 55nm refresh of the GT200, maybe it won't feature GDDR5:
