Um...... I had to tear all this out at work today so the body shop can straighten the 2002 X5 the customer smacked up. Hrm....I wonder if I will remember where it all goes in a month when the X5 gets back?????

what did the customer do to the X5?
I hate working on cars:lol: Only thing I've had to do was swap engines and put in new transmissions which are a pain :D
I don't know how you can do it:p
how did you get that all out in one peice? did you reassemble it or did you peel the X5 off of it?!?:rofl

:wtf:
did they take it off road or something?:p
BMW still rocks!:headbang:
How much weight is in those bags to keep the thing balanced? Oh, wait. Make it a contest. Whoever gets the closest, you can get them an NV35. Just add it in on the cost for repair of the BMW. ;)

No idea. Either way, it's bashola'd. $50,000 Canadian bashola'd to be exact. Ouch, that is one expensive accident.

LOL!!!
Gib..you'll love this.
Clutch install on my friends Mustang. We can't get at the two upper bellhousing bolts. We got to the bellhousing around 3pm, and we worked with it until about 8:30. We broke 2 sockets; a 1/2" and a 13mm. Thankfully Craftsman has their little policy :D

You're a mechanic. Any advice on getting to the upper bellhousing bolts? They are ridiculous. We have jacked the engine up, we have let it down. We have used EVERY ratchet and EVERY extension and EVERY universal joing in increasingly bizarre combinations in an attempt to get the bolts free. We have 8 off. We need 2 for the bellhousing, and one easy one on the starter, and then we can get the flywheel reground and put it back together.
*sigh* So close yet so far.....

Wow..just looked closer at the pics.
4.4i huh? Dang...I've always has a hankerin' for an X5 ever since they came out. Some people just don't need 290HP. Someone should find that salesman and tell him he should have sold the guy a 3.0i 225HP ;)
Or perhaps not. The more idiots there are with big, powerful cars, the more your services are in demand :D

Hrm, been a while since I have worked on a Rustang.
What I do at work to get at the upper bolts, on BMW's anyway, is remove the rear transmission crossmember and drop the arse of the transmission down as far as it will go then using a loooooooooooooooooooooooong extension and a socket, you can get the top bolts. Consider yourself lucky man, BMW uses inverted Torx for their tranny bolts.....
As for Aerostars, I have done many a spark plug on those. Evil...........very very evil. Try doing a steering rack on an All Wheel Drive Aerostar. The geniuses at Ford mount it INSIDE the front crossmember. Brillaint. :fu:
I wouldn't recomment having a contest based on the sandbag weight considering it is visible on the side of the bag on the left. They are 15kg each. :p

Here's a contest for you. This is a shot I took of our rear lot. Let's see who can identify the black car hidden behind the Cooper S. :afro:

I would say a Z3 but then I would be wrong, I'm not too familiar with the latest models. Kind of looks like a Jag from what I can see:D
