I installed this
http://files.filefront.com/Mster+Config+v235exe/;10479960;/fileinfo.html
And visually notice very little difference aside from the fact that the game is steadily running at 40+ fps. GPU benchmark yields 42fps @ 1680X1050.
All my ssao and hdr, ultra quality water, all the DX10 effects, etc... I'm running the quality version of the mod.
So those of you who haven't tried this yet, I HIGHLY recommend it. Beats HP and natural mod hands down.

It's a Higher Quality/Same Quality better performance mod...

This is the config Rygel was using when he posted those totally awesome screenshots in the Screenshot thread, does this new version also look like that?

I don't know, using the performance config I get exactly the same scores with my 8800GTX, same minimum, same average. The cfg is applied as the game does look different, and it's also noted during the benchmark by the indication of "Custom" during the run...

after looking at some of it's autoexe values, it appears that it slyly cuts corners with Q_shader___ settings at 2 rather than 3...meaning they're set to high rather than very high. This is one difference between the mster config and mine which was a tweaked HP1.3 config

I went back last night and tweaked a few things in the MSTR config here and there so it has some stuff high, some very high and a few ultra high settings. I've basically used what I've gathered over my whole tweaking experience with this game to know what I can crank up and what I can't. Leaving shadows at 1024, POM off and vegetation draw distance at around 50~ish are the 3 big FPS tweaks I use.

And it runs so good on you config? Only on one 8800GTX?

On Vista is it recommended to use DX9 or DX10 with the Mstr config?

you guys should give my custom very high DX9 config a try... i get ~29FPS at 1920x1200 in the gpu benchmark

instead of using the performance auto file ure the appearance copy and paste it to the program files folder and turn everything to high of very high i have this mod its sick!
How does Mster's compare to the Triple C pack, anyone tried both? I used the CCC one and it did wonders.

mster is faster than ccc at little to no visual expense.
as I said earlier in I htink another thread, very little graphic changes can be made to make it look noticably better during game play.
now, if you're sitting there wanting to compare screen shots all day, yeah you can make it look better than what mster sets things to but I've tweaked this game up and down and I can't tell that some of the graphics settings have been lowered with this (which is the ultimate goal). what I CAN tell is that I'm rocking 30~40 fps consistently.

Installed the 3.0.1 Mster Config today to replace the HP/Natural Mod config I used before.
I'm very pleased with the result, looks great and has decent performance! Man, Crysis feels so smooth with the GTX 280...
The only thing I added manually was POM, it's not enabled by default in the Quality config. HP config is a bit more "ultra" I'd say, HP also changed more options to "Custom" instead of "High/Very High" in the options menu.

i just tried out mster config 3.01 and im not very impressed with it... i got at most 1 FPS increase over my custom config and the effects seem overdone and theres also some graphical glitches like water clipping through the beach/sand
how is this compared to natural mod?

how is this compared to natural mod?
The most obvious difference is the water. Natural mod has brighter water...

It doesn't have quite as many bells and whistles enabled vs the natural mod but you get more FPS with this mod. The visual difference between the two is negligible when you're playing and would require screen shots to see any real differences.
