I run Crysis at 1366x768 on my 720p HDTV. I bet I could easily run at 4xAA DX10 VH at that res with a 280.

Yeah, at 35 fps, lol.

Yeah, at 35 fps, lol.

There's nothing wrong with 35fps in Crysis. With my single GTX it sometimes dips into the low 20s and high teens and unless I've got the fps displayed I can't even tell.

Yeah, that's because that's all everybody is getting. I'm spoiled. I've got to have my 60 fps minimum or nothing :D

When I decided that 25fps looked good in Crysis on my system it wasn't because "that's all everybody [else] is getting." It was because it actually looked good.

Until the day you see it running at 60 fps. Then you'll look back and say, "Wow, how did I ever think that looked good?" lmao :D

I run Crysis at 1366x768 on my 720p HDTV. I bet I could easily run at 4xAA DX10 VH at that res with a 280. Anyway, what card is that screenshot from? Dual 4850s, dual 4870s or the 4870x2? If dual 4850s can get 22fps in DX10, VH at 1920x1200 then the 4870s and X2 are going to be even better. The X2 will probably end up costing around current 280 prices and if they've ironed out microstutters it's going to give the 280 some serious competition.

nope, it does run, but far from smooth, though AA4x doesnt make it much slower, and min.fps 9? how much you think it will be better on 4870X2? something is very wrong with crysis engine, especially DX10 part.

Dual 4850s.

Crysis DX10 is so overrated, it performs so badly and with a good config DX9 looks just as good or even better.

Is that about what a single GTX280 gets ?

brady

That's about what a single 280 gets with no AA at that resolution.

It is when the GPU cost you a cool $650

btw Firingsquad preview is up :

i'm waiting for the xbitlabs review. IMO xbit & FS are ones of the most decent review sites when it comes to new GPUs.

That's still unplayable. With an average of 32FPS at the timedemo, the final battle drops to 9-10fps. You need an average of above 40fps for the final battle to remain playable. I succeeded at doing that by dropping the resolution to 1440x900...
