84°C isn't bad for being under full load. That shouldn't be hot enough for the card to throttle back. I think that threshold is over 100°C range somewhere. I'll try the benchmark again with the fan at 100% just to make sure it's not the temps that are causing the lower scores.

84 is about what it should be with stock fan.

Guys keep the fan 100% even on idle...that's how i run my 8800GTX SLI setup. If i let fan to be default my temperatures reaches up to 98C, otherwise it's in 82-84C max.

Well I was holding out for the X2, but it's gonna be a while before they're out and if I wanted 2 X2's I'd have to get a new mobo, as well as possible poor scaling problems with 4 GPU's. As much as everyone cuss's nVIDIA chipsets I've godda say a love this Striker2F and I don't wanna swap it.

The GTX260's seem far better VFM than the 280's, too. I guess I'll find out if I've made the right choice.

I can FINALLY play King Kong:Gamer's Edition without it dipping below 60 fps :) It only took about 3 card revisions later to make that possible :D lol

Anyone else play this game? The only map that still pummels the card is "In the Mud". I'll get you next time In the Mud! :mad:

I'm still dinking around trying to find my max OC and I think I'm almost there. I was running 742|2600 and saw some glitches in Vantage. I kept the core and memory the same but backed the shaders down to 1550. Now all glitches are gone and I'm looping. Best score I've done on a single GPU so far is 11.989K for GPU alone.

It depends on the tests (settings), games and demo's. But after reading various reviews, CF still has microstuttering and lower min fps then a GTX280.

I don't exactly remember the sites (reviews with min fps are rare), but this userreview just sums it up:

And I have quite a bit of experience with CF and sometimes the min fps gets worse after gooing from single to dual GPU (offcourse it depends how often it occurs for being an issue)

Offcourse I'll give the HD4870X2 a try with it's new interconnect.

Yeah, i got crossfire three times already, these min.fps was more like same low as with single, but sometimes even slower then single card, thats true.
