Not as good as I expected, but still good. I think I will wait for another to upgrade my 512mb Gts (which do the job relatively well).

As for Jackup's rig, it's just his personal preferences, he is computer hardware enthusiasts. If upgrade makes him happy, why not? I would spend whatever I can afford to make myself happier. My uncle once got a ugly looking china plate for 50k, it's just a small plate that looks really really ugly and it costs 50k. Well, he isn't like those millionaire that makes 7 or 8 digits a year, but he is happy that he spent those kinda of money on something he really like. Good for him.

Im very curious , this guy has to have the best rig on this board or he can't survive. But with all his gaming gear, just how good is jakup in gaming period?

Some of these guys with super ubber rigs usually play in big tournys and win money too like the bigone guy.

And their guys who have super rigs who aren't good at games.

he has to have the best rig on the board? what? :wtf:

jAkUp works for evga, and i assume he gets great deals on the cards. not to mention he is a very respected member of the community, so when he shows off hardware, people pay attention.

isnt that reason enough to get all that sweet hardware?

$650 on newegg.... I think I'll wait for a bit and see if they don't drop in price by $50 - $100. Its nice to see some real performance gains in Crysis finally

Jakup, I've got a request. 1920x1200, 0xAA, VH, DX10, Single 280. And, here's a strange one, 1366x768, 4xAA, VH, DX10, Single 280.

I've said I'm not getting a 280 but I just got a nice bonus at work and so I'm testing the waters. The only problem is I game on a 720p HDTV at 1366x768. With a single 8800GTX I can comfortably play at 1366x768 0xAA, VH, DX10. That's not exactly a stressful resolution for something like the 280 but I was wondering how much AA I could expect to apply. Additionally, I've also been thinking of getting a new 1080p TV so I'd like to know what I could expect at around 1080p in VH, DX10 with no AA.

This is the fastest jump in geveration gpu's in a long time.

They totally jumped past the 9 series within a few months.

Why just a big jump so quick?

Why couldn't they just call it a 9900 GTX?

Plus, now we are back to 600+ cards, i thought those days were over.

9800GTX's are what 300 bucks or less? now they went back up to high priced cards which only 2% will buy.

new design. 9-series was a refresh.

they didnt call it the 9900GTX because it's a new chip.

it's so expensive because atm, ATI has nothing to compare.

Will these new cards work on an ASUS P5B Deluxe motherboard?

Well it's only about a week until the rumored release of the ATi 4870s which are supposed to more than match up. With a 9800GX2 so close or sometimes better, I can't justify paying 650 for a 280 :x

It's as much a refresh as the 9 series was. It's just a wider memory bus and more SP's than the G80's and G90's. There hasn't been a new generation of nvidia graphics processor introduced since the 8800.

And finally, some Crysis screenshots at 1920x1200 with 4xAA/16xAF everything maxed to the fullest! You can see the framerate and card temperatures in the top left hand of the screenshot. For the first time ever, Crysis is very playable with 4x/16x Very High DX10 settings :D

Are you 100% positive that AF is working along with POM ??

Yes, as I mentioned in my first post, micro-stutter is nonexistant.

Also AF did look like it was being applied.

Hmm how about some screenshot comparsions ? [No AF vs. 16xAF on DX10/POM applied] (because : http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=1683528&postcount=11)

4850 comes out June 25. The 4870 was pushed back to July 8, as was the 4870x2.
