Yeah. These drivers are really strange. Finally got hem working with my 9600GT and Vista32.

Fired up Mass Effect and it was stuttering all over the place and also loading really low textures. Exited the game and started it back up and it's now smooth as butter with nice image quality. :screwy:

Here's the Vista32 modden inf. Didn't need to install them in Safe mode or anything. But you will need to reboot after installing.


Edit: Removed my .inf as it's unecessary now. Get them at http://laptopvideo2go.com/. ;)

Made some adjustments yesterday for 8x00 and up GPU's in the modded INFs (177.xx)
They should install properly now.
Let me know if there are any install issues

Looks like the rest of us will be getting a 177.xx with shader code re-written, officially soon...same thing we are running with modded infs but this would explain the performance increase.

I find this funny - cause if these drivers had come sooner I wonder how the GTX 280 / 260 would look with these new performance increase to the older cards?

The LaptopVideo2Go INFs dont seem to be working for most people.
I even double checked on my Vista Ultimate x64....The installer doesnt even ask to install the card, its just finishes , restarts and no GPU installed.
Same goes for many others in different OSs...
These drivers are certainly weird.

My Wifes Dell D820 with a Quadro NVS120M will not update to any newer driver.
This is not INF related the driver refuses to start this GPU.
Have to go all the way back to 156.83 before it works again.
So some GPU's might be blocked from updates.
Must look closer into this.

I did have issues with 8x00+ GPU's installing with modded INFs, setup.exe just finishing with nothing installed.
This should have been fixed, only applies to 177.26 and 35 at this point.

Grrrr HDCP, BD drives are not cheap for lappies :(
Then will still have issue that my LCD will probably also not be HDCP complient.

Why couldn't HDDVD win the battle ;)

I won't be able to fix it till I get me a BD drive, I'll make it a higher priority.

Ok so i installed them as you said and I was getting 15 fps so I used driver sweeper (isn’t she great!) and did a clean install and I was getting 44 FPS, so I think that I am seeing an increase over the 175.16 maybe 2FPS, I will say It feels as if the game runs "smoother" I don’t really know how to say it but I don’t get as many "jumps" in the frame rate. on the other hand Bioshock and UT3 wont even load any more which may not be related.....

I give these drivers a thumbs up! oh the other hand Nvidia control panel couldn’t detect what games I had installed, Is that an issue?

DUDE!!!! I am getting the same thing!!!! I dont know what i am so excited!!!!

Its very odd, you play Crysis and its at 17 FPS then you shut it down and open it up again and its at 44FPS!

thank god some one else is getting this issue,,,, I was starting to think my graphics card was broken.

I think it may have something to do with the game detection bug nekro mentioned. It seems like it takes a reboot of the game to get it going. Mass Effect is the only game I had issues with though. Gears of War, The Witcher, Lineage II and other games have absolutely no issues other than good performance.
