OK so I buy a Toshiba Satellite U405-S2830. I comes with Vista home 32 bit, 3GB of ram, and much bloat. So.... I buy Vista 64 and a 2GB stick of ram to bump me up to 4 GB. Vista 64 installed no problems and I downloaded all the display, wireless, chipset drivers (I think) and installed them. The problems I having is, no wireless (vista says there is no wireless adapter installed. Then the Intel video driver won't install, it says the pc does not meet the minimum requirement for the software.

Please help !!!! Here is a link to the download page for my lappy, can anyone tell me which to install, in what order???

Some drivers on toshiba's site do not indicate 64 bit.

what wireless card do you have? seems that your model of notebook could have 3 different types

Intel 802.11a/b/g/n, a/b/g, b/g PCIe Mini Card driver for Windows Vista (v11.5.0.32; 11-21-2007; 4.01M)

Atheros Wireless LAN Driver for Windows Vista (v7.4.2.40.32.1; 03-03-2008; 5.85M)

Realtek Wireless LAN Driver for Windows XP/ Vista (32/64bit) (v6.1116.1226.2007r2; 03-07-2008; 11.05M)

I should dump the realtek and atheros drivers right? Just keep the intel.

if your wi-fi card is Intel 4965 then yes, you don't need Realtek and Atheros drivers.

Thanks, yeah i'll dump them when I get home later. The only other errors I saw last night in device manager was finger print reader which I don't care about, mass storage, card reader.

Oh, and I tried to set my power options to sleep on lid close but that option was not there? Only "do nothing, or shut down" any idea how to change that?
