I'm not sure about that, Crysis when at 105C stuttered quite a bit, I can't imagine it doing that just with a false readings and increased fanspeed.
The card could have been throttling, but not because it was really overheating but from what a faulty sensor was reporting...
yes it throttles at 105c - or what it THINKS is 105c..

Hmm, thats true. I do hope they can fix this. :(
this is me running vantage test 2 - takes 79 sec to go from idle of 48 to 105 degrees.. case is at 24 degrees
this was after i removed and cleaned all nvidia software in safe mode , and installed the latest driver

Google Ozone Furmark. Run it in a window you can look at the temp while testing and close it when it goes too high. It used to bring the card to 105C in 3 seconds, no kidding... :(
Jeez. So when do Nvidia plan on moving to the 55nm process?

Highest I have seen mine go in the 2 or 3 hours I have been playing Crysis and running benchmarks thus far has been 86C.Idols at right around 50C.

is the VF1000 cooler compatible with the 260 & 280?
I'd like to know that too, I have a RHS88 and VF1000 cooler on my 8800GTX, I'm wondering if they will fit on a GTX 280.

What's the best and simplest (as in doesn't add tons of garbage) to tell this - running Vista 64- will run AoC a good while and report back
RivaTuner I am guessing ? Or does it work ok with the new 280's

My Asus GTX280 is idling at 39c and is 65c under full load
2nd card (first BFG being returned) is a Leadtek bog-standard:
Idle 49
Load 86
(havent tried much overclocking yet but it appears to do pretty nicely :))
much happier :captnkill:
Ravynmagi - I would check your cooling and probably RMA that card - 104/105 is not healthy and the card is doubtless bouncing off the throttle limiter of 105c
