Clutch Install +10hours.

This should have taken only 5 hours. So much for that. One of the bellhousing bolts was overtightened when the Ford techs installed the last clutch.

Aluminum Bellhousing+Aluminum Block + Grade 9 steel bolts = Stuck

It wouldn't be so bad if I could keep the mess confined to my garage, but I've got the hood in the guest bedroom :o

Keep an eye on the papers...something tells me my obituary will be appearing shortly.

PS heat up the bellhousing around the bolts with a heat gun NOT A TORCH and the bolts should come free.

So you know what we did instead?

We started a 4.6L V8 engine for about 5 minutes that was running richer than a jogging Bill Gates with only headers on for exhaust. Good thing the fiancee wasn't home! :angel:

It made a pretty noise..but when it was all said and done, the bolt won, and we nearly asphyxiated.

Ohh well..drank some beer, said some jokes, cut some knuckles, broke some tools, bought a few new ones (my personal favorite), learned how to put a 90lbs transmission back onto the bellhousing while lying on our backs, and basically had a good time.

Well..had a good time until my better half came home. Wonder if she was serious about sleeping on the couch tonight?
