But .. but you are the one that most resisted the idea of the GTX280 being of any use to you & insisted that your 8800GTX SLI are sufficient! :wtf: LOL!

anyways congrats :D

Yes , price drop.

Geez I can't understand how people buy a graphics card just a couple of days before 4870 launch, and after having seen the 4850 perform really good. Just wait two days and decide then, it's not that hard!

Heck, two 4870s in xfire cost less than one 280 and is faster. Lookin' real good!

yea expect a big drop in price soon as 4870 comes out..either that or expect a gtx270....which most likely will be the case.

CF HD4870 wont work on my mobo, also HD4500 doesn't give me any better performance then my single 8800GTX in most cases. Overall 4800 series is nice but not for me since the performance is not up to my 8800GTX setup.

I'm buying GTX280 not for Crysis (even though GTX280 in 1680*1050 should be perfect for Crysis). That game is really boring to me, but for other games especially for UT3 engine based games. This will make some room in my case single vs SLI 8800GTX and it will use less power.

The 280 is the best card around. The 4870 will be slower and not everybody is willing to run Crossfire.

Enjoy :D

I've got mine to 690|2300 1550 and I haven't hit max yet.

I've seen one fellow @ guru3d running 724|2600.
