Yea well since i ****ing hate my Asus nForce 780i board i wall looking to get a Intel based board ;)

So my choise fell on

ABIT IX38-QuadGT, X38, Socket-775, GbLAN ATX, Otes, GbLAN, DDR2, 3xPCI-Ex(2.0)x16

It was cheap and have some nice reviews.

So why not take 3 x 4850's to go....they are almost giving em' away....:D

3xCF aint scaling too well ATM, probably due to drivers. Very little gain from the 3rd card.

That's a nice mobo, and they're really cheap now. I think I'll get one myself and go for CF too.
My P35 is 16x/4x crap, so it blows for CF. :o

I'm gonna go the same road, but I think I'll get just one 4870 next month and another when Nehalem releases. :)

True that, nForce crapsets are useless.

Only took once for that data corruption problem to piss me off.

You really are a tosser at times. Must be all that polish daftness. Nforce is a bag of S***e. They couldn't even get the nforce 250 working properly with one of their own cards.

Well i got the motherboard today - running good. The cards are comming tomorrow. With the nforce boards i had some issues with running my 9300 @ 3.0ghz- Would crash when browsing or doing random crap.
Problem is gone with the intel board.....running 100% stabel with my GTX280. I should have never bought the nForce 780i board - i knew it, but i just had to give it a shot.

is it 3x x16 or 2x x16 and 1x x4?

can a x4 slot be classed as pci-e 2.0?

Third slot works internally at 4x

Enjoy your new rig, Peter. I'm building one this week as well. Got my GPU and mobo today. Just waiting on the CPU and RAM to arrive!

Looking forward to your benchmarks, although I'm going to wait for the 4870s myself.

Hehe, here I was thinking about asking regarding your motherboard's stability. I ordered the same model yesterday and ended up cancelling it after some terrible reviews I read... Looks like you answered my question. :) I probably won't go SLI unless its on an Intel Chipset... :)
