After Arsene Lupin , Sherlock goes head to head with Jack The Ripper!
After a quick side project, Dracula Origin, Frogwares is currently working on the fifth title in their Sherlock Holmes franchise, this time going up against his most famous enemy yet, Jack the Ripper himself.

Hopefully this is a lot more polished than "The Awakened".

That seemed like it could have been a pretty decent game but the production values were sooooooo low for the majority of the game and a lot of the puzzles and situations made no sense to anyone but Sherlock Holmes.

Sherlock Homles vs. Arsene Lupin was quite decent & indeed better than The Awakened , but i agree .. still needs more polishing.

I'll probably pass on this one regardless. I don't think Sherlock Holmes really does much for me.

The dialog in The Awakened was just so dry. And I guess one of Sherlock's important abilities is that he can make crazy assumptions and get things correct based on very little information. That always ends up looking like a plot hole to me, so it seemed like The Awakened had a lot of those.

Heh, for a second there I thought this is a Sherlock Holmes fighting game.

As for The Awakened, it's an alright game, but I had to force myself to beat the game. It wasn't enjoyable at times.

The shining moment of the game for me was when I had Holmes and Watson searching the dead body in Act 2 under the Warehouses for a full 5-10 minutes. After that, I went back down the stairs to some puddle/marks on the ground which then triggered a cut schene, in where they gasp, exclaimed, or whatever, when they found the dead body. There was a look of surprised and revulsion in Watson's part to the mutilated body.

And I'm sitting there thinking, you ****ers just sat there for nearly 10 minutes exploring the body. WTF.

Anyway, I hope the production value is better this time around. Otherwise it would probably be better as a fighting game. Wouldn't that be sick?
