Wow. That's a great OC on your memory. Btw, do you link the core and shader clocks? Just curious because you say your shader clock limits your core. I personally do not link them. I do link them initially, but once I reach my max shader I then unlink and push the core up a bit. I have to watch my temps though when I do that. My card runs a little hotter than yours, so temps is a great concern of mine.

No I don't link. If they were linked my core would be even lower, but since the core is based off a multiplier it can still be limited by the shader.

For example with my shader at 1420, unlinked, my core won't go higher than 710. If I boost my shader to 1425, I am then able to run the core at 715. I can certainly set it higher, but the settings do not stick unless I up the shader.

Memory is quite sensitive, which is why I run it 25MHz(effective 50MHz) below my artifacting point. 2500MHz is 140GB/s.

As to the temp I think anything below 80 is safe for 24/7 use and won't shorten the life of the card.

Speaking of temps, I ran Furmark and when my temp reached 80 degrees the screen went blank. I had to cold boot my machine to get it to come back on. I guess the card got too hot, but at only 80 degrees? Anyway, I backed off the OC and everything is ok.

Btw, it was OC'd at 705\1525\1155 when it shut down. My card doesn't seem to like the shader above 1500, so I keep it around 1485.

Just got my MSI GTX 280 SuperOC (stock overclocked at 700/1150/1400). Running Furmark w/ MSAA 8x stability test, core temperature went up to 87C (100% fan speed), is that ok? First Furmark w/ MSAA 4x run was different though, fan speed was 56% and card was at 79C, strange.

Running Spore @ 2560x1600 keeps the graphics core around 78C, and fan is very quiet.

Idle temp in Vista is around 62C.

I use FurMark to test my clock ,it useally the first place I see artifacts even if 3DMark06 will run it just fine.I did'nt see much of a increase in 3DMark06 running two GTX280's in SLI but in 3DMark Vantage ,I went from 14,597 to 21,027.

Just got my BFG GTX260 OC (192 version), was at stock speeds 590/999/1296, i overclocked to 650/1210/1400 but it was getting close to 85-90 degrees so i backed down to 642/1202/1400 and the MAX i have seen it go is 81 degrees when running Furmark at 1600x1200 with 16xAA and Extreme Burning Mode enabled. A bit overkill to be sure, but I wanted to ENSURE stability over all else haha. :p

Mind you this is all with no adjustments to the fan speeds, highest usage the fan has seen is 54%. I use Rivatuner so I need to make a few fan speed profiles and surely I could push the card farther, but honestly there is no need. I'm happy with my current overclock.

Current system:

EVGA 750i SLi mobo
Core 2 Duo E7200 (stock 2.53GHz, OC to 3.1GHz on stock cooling. Vendetta coming soon!:))
Single BFG GTX 260 (192) (OC to 642 core/1202 memory/1400 shaders)
2GB OCZ Gold DDR2-800 RAM
3DMark 06 score of 13,903 (limited by my CPU big time, but its a budget system so what the hell!:p)

Here's the FC2 bench on a single GTX @ 730|2500 like Anand and HardwareCanucks did, or that is I ran ranch small DX10 Ultra settings 1920x. I got 55.31-

Still waiting on my flexible SLi bridge to come so I can test GTX 260 SLi @ 730 on the core.

First off, Mods, creators, thank you for this site, it helped me decide my purchase before I made the plunge. I registered to say thank you and share my results. And thanks to the community for posting your results as well, it guided me in the right direction :)

Here are my results on the 260. Pretty damn impressed with this card, especially in my system. I posted my card and the specs for the 280 as well. Sorry for the large size guys. I am a 360/PS3 gamer who has recently been brought back into the PC gaming world after 5 years of ignorance :)
