Wow, first to post here =D

What are the supported cards in this set?

Downloading for Vista 64 with one 9800 gx2.

I want to see if this has support for CUDA and PhysX for 9800 GX2.

46%...

These are for now slowest drivers yet for GTX 280, bleh.

Support pretty much all existing cards :)

Slowest?

177.35 > 177.39 > 177.40

Installed OK no needed modded inf with 9800GX2.

I am testing.

Yeah, probably bugfix release, nothing else :(:thumbdwn:

Installed fine on 9800GX2. PhysX physics via GPU works with them:

Yes, I can confirm that.

I have now 30000 CPU points in Vantage with 9800 GX2.

PhysX now works.

could someone test some DX10 game? DMC4 demo, Lost Planet, Call of Juarez? last three drivers that came from that site had DX10 busted.

Works fine on my GTX 280 (DMC4 and CoJ)

I dont have any problems, but seeing how 4870 beat up GTX 260 and sometimes 280 it makes me sad. :thumbdwn:

Will try these drivers later.

@ high res and with AA on the GTX280 is always faster. There are always games in which ATi is fast. So is nV.

I think the GTX280 will show its muscle in games of the future. Look at WiC and Crysis. In those games the GTX owns the Radeons.

Be patient. ;) :p

A lot of reviews show inconsistency.... In one the HD4870 is much faster than the other review, at the same settings. LOL.

In this one it can't even beat the GTX260:

It will never beat the GTX280. :D

The R700 will though. :) The HD4870 and 4850 have extremely good value, but if the GTX260 gets some better drivers, and if Nv can drop the price to 250 euro pricepoint... Then the GTX260 is a bargain too i think. And it uses a lot less power idle, and is a lot cooler idle.

All mentioned titles work fine on my rig with 177.40.

Honestly, I wish 4870 beats even GTX280.
Why?
So NVidia is forced to make even faster cards ASAP!!! :) :) :)

From what I've seen thus far, it's equal to a GTX260.

The point is: HD4870 costs US$100,00 less than the GTX260 o_O
It's intended to compete with the 9800GTX in the price point. But it's faster than it and sometimes faster than the GTX260.
The HD4870 is intended to compete with the 9800GTX in the price, bur it's ways faster than it.
ATi is making little chips for the high-end, and the enthusiast segment will use Crossfire. And even minor chips for the mid-end and low-end (to be launched).
nVidia is making their monolithic GPUs for the enthusiast segment, (SLI = Super enthusiast?) and minor ones for high-end, mid-end and low-end segments.

So, in fact, if PhysX don't make effect, nVidia has lost this battle.
The GT200's archteture is almost identical to G90, but it's much bigger. The RV770 is much different from the R670, and ATi was never fast on developing driver, so i think the HD4870 CrossFire will own the GTX280 soon.
Btw, 2 HD4870 is crossfire consumes less energy than one GTX280 (on load).

I personally think it's good ATI is back in the game. Better hardware, better prices. Consumers win. I only wished the GTX280 had debuted at a lower price... :)

You have to install the PhysX (http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx_8.06.12_whql.html) drivers.

I installed these on my GX2 with the physx patch and I was getting 8 FPS in the physx mod for UT3, That sounds wrong right?

Still no support for my 8600GT T_T

But... hey, wait! Somebody got PhysX to run on ATI cards!
The guy was messing with PhysX SDK and CUDA SDK for a while and modified PhysX drivers to make them ccompatible with ATI's GPUs...

And I still don't have PhysX here *sad*
