No, I think this was only rumored for for the R700/4870x2 card. 2 cards in crossfire will be the same, though supposedly with better scaling and less issues due to the new crossfire sideport. Although, ATI cards don't seem to suffer from the "RAM wall" effect as much as nvidia.
