One reason why ppl should make an autoexec flash backup or write down button by button proceedure to blind flash the card. And wait for sofware to be trully tested, not just rush into it and ruin your brand new 250 euro worth of hardware...

Exactly. I don't see the point in flashing anything to be honest.

anything? what about motherboard? dvd burner?

flashing video card is pointless and unless the bios was from the manufacture it will void warranty.

but motherobard bios updates are very important

same with dvd burners
my samsung dvd burner has custom firmware on it, not only does it burn faster with higher quality, but also reads DVDs at 18x (not 16x) installing games is quite a bit faster.

flashed my LG BD-RE drive with latest official firmware and it can burn 4 different BD-R 2x disc at 6x.

I flashed my 4850 to drop the temps. The stock idle was 20% duty cycle on the fan at 80 degrees. I bumped the fan up and get about 50 idle, 80 load, and just a little more noise.

Flashing to permanently set the overclock isn't a bad idea if you know its 100% stable. I did that on my 8800. Flashing voltages and experimenting with overclocks is just retarded.
