Hello,

I have only been into PC-BSD for a few hours and still stumbling around in the dark.

I notice that games are very slow and jerky - unplayable. One of them said that 3d acceleration was not enabled.

I downloaded the driver named above for my Nvidia GS-7300 Video Card but the documentation about how to install it is way over my head. I have no idea how to go about extracting the file to a temporary location of my choice, and then running the following from the root of the extracted directory hierarchy: % make install

Any help regarding what to click on and so forth would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Hi there archp2008.

In your case , I would highly recommend you to visit the PC-BSD forums, which not only have a really positive attitude towards their users base, but are also quite helpful.

The PC-BSD Forum is extremly complete and chock full of active members. Whereas this one seems rather dead .. :(

You can find the PC-BSD Forum in here:

http://forums.pcbsd.org/

Browse the different categories and pay special attention to "Guides" and "Graphics Cards"

"Guides"

"Graphics Cards"

You _will_ find what you are looking for in there ;)
