 I noticed something peeled off on front and top side of Gainward Geforce 8800GTX card a few months ago and thought the Gainward stickers got loose then I realised it was nylon sheets when I peeled it off. I cant believed the card sticked with nylon sheets in my case heated up to 85c for nearly 2 years. I dont know it was here all the time. :o

Do all cards have it? I just looked at my 260 and I can't see any nylon protection over the casing.

The only thing I feel like getting rid off is that ugly Point of View giant sticker with a Troll on it, does it come off easy?

Look closely on the edge. Maybe you didn't get it.

The top of my card had a warning on the "protective coating" itself instructing to remove it.

If your card has a dull looking finish instead of gloss, you've got it on. I was actually pissed when I got my card because the protective film made it look like it had been handled or used by someone else. Soon as I removed it the card looked great with a high gloss finish.

Same here, I didn't realize there was nylon on my 8800GTS 640 until I swapped it out for an 8800GT....:p

Yea make sure you take it off, it helps keep the sticker nice and shiney, but if left on they can get kinda melted and stuff :D

Don't see any nylon. Only a thin plastic film on the back, and nothing on the front.

Should I bother checking my 8800GT or is this some 8800GTX thing?
Wouldnt mind taking the temps down a notch or 2..

Recently I wanted to remove the nylon from my evga geforce gtx 280 . But then I noticed, that a sticker saying "warranty void if removed" covers a part of the nylon on the above side of my card. Hence I can't remove all of the nylon :( , thanks to evga :argh:
