Toms review compare the GTX280 as loud as a washine machine under load , and the GTX260 slighty better. That alone have me away from buying one GTX260. Another is the heat. This is a major one ,because i have an heavily overclocked Qx9650 already running close to the max recommended INTeL safe temps .
did you know if the hot air that comes from the fans stay inside the case ?
I think either your videocard and heavily overclocked CPU caused the hot air. When I had Geforce 8800GTX in my case with just 2 fans from the Geforce 8800GTX and the CPU fan running. 8800GTX idle temp was 72c while the CPU temp were 50c, it created hot air and the load temp on 8800GTX was 85c while CPU temp were 60c which was very hot air. But things seemed changed for the better when I got GTX 260 installed, the GTX 260 idle temp is 52c and the CPU temp is at cooling 40c. I touched the case window, it did not create hot air, it was quiet and cold air.
