Toms review compare the GTX280 as loud as a washine machine under load , and the GTX260 slighty better. That alone have me away from buying one GTX260. Another is the heat. This is a major one ,because i have an heavily overclocked Qx9650 already running close to the max recommended INTeL safe temps .
did you know if the hot air that comes from the fans stay inside the case ?

I think either your videocard and heavily overclocked CPU caused the hot air. When I had Geforce 8800GTX in my case with just 2 fans from the Geforce 8800GTX and the CPU fan running. 8800GTX idle temp was 72c while the CPU temp were 50c, it created hot air and the load temp on 8800GTX was 85c while CPU temp were 60c which was very hot air. But things seemed changed for the better when I got GTX 260 installed, the GTX 260 idle temp is 52c and the CPU temp is at cooling 40c. I touched the case window, it did not create hot air, it was quiet and cold air.

I returned it because I experienced bad fps in games, it either bad card or bad driver. Been cleaned out drivers and cleaned installed Vista both didnt helped.

HD4870 sucks. Pathetic drivers and performace compared to GTX280. Playing Crysis on my GTX280 and then trying same game on friends computer with HD4870 was just terrible experience. Bunch of people are smoking crack nowdays...

Okay I am benchmark Crysis for you to compare my CPU with GTX 260 vs QX6800 with 4870 from Xbitlabs review here (http://xbitlabs.com/articles/video/display/ati-radeon-hd4800-games_5.html#sect0) with same settings Xbitlabs used and measured min and avg fps recorded with fraps. At 1280x1024 they recorded 12fps min and 30fps avg, mine recorded 16fps min and 33-35fps avg.

Hope this help. :)

Hey thanks Athlon. Those numbers look pretty good to me. But why the discrepancy with this bench:

like 62 fps?

I checked the 62fps screenshot, it used Crysis Bench Tool with DirectX 9, I used DirectX 10 but didnt used Crysis Bench Tool cos I dont got a clue how to use the tool as it didnt worked last time I tried.

I think his numbers are way too high anyways. That card cant pull that high of an avg can it? So what would you say the fps drop is with an older cpu like ours compared to a Q6600 for example?
