Hey guys,

I'm currently running TWO 7900GTX, and I have 4 monitors. Now I find the performance of 7900GTX SLI a bit lacking, so I'm thinking of dropping one 7900GTX for a 8800GTS and forget about SLI. My question is, can I run 8800GTS 512 AND 7900GTX 512 in one system? (I need 4 monitor outs)

Cheerio...

I would think so, as long as you've got drivers that are suitable for both cards and you don't try and run in SLI (not that you're planning to anyhow).

So I guess, I would jsut install the latest 8800GTS drivers and that would take care of the 7900.

...But arent 7-series and 8-series seperate drivers?

I don't think you can run 2 different video cards on one system! It wont work. Why don't you just buy anot 8800gts and go from there. Even in non-sli mode you can't run two different drivers for 1 mobo.....correct me if I'm wrong. (lee63)

you should be able to. I am runing a 7950 512 agp and a pci 5200 128. the truble comes in if you are trying to run cards that require diffrent drivers, such as a 3850 and a 9800 gtx. it may also not work if you are not using a nforce motherboard but since you have one, diss regard that info.
good luck,

The graphics cards in the system need to be different slot types if you plan to use more then one. Example one AGP and one PCIe. I would suggest that you actually just get the Matrox TripleHead2Go or something similiar.
