Umm, you do understand you just responded to someone who has you on ignore, right?
Good job, rocket scientist.
As a spam mod, I am not allowed to take sides...
ROFL...He totally got pwned...
This is all that anyone needs to see in order to realize that you are full of **** and never even owned an HD 4870 much less two because even a single HD 4870 will handle those games that you listed great at that resolution along with 8XAA.
I tell you what, ATI releases something competitive and then some of you are bothered and threatened by it so much that you resort to flat you lying. PATHETIC.
:rolleyes2

I disagree.
It's not being an "ass" illustrating how some fans dismiss or excuse anything negative about their favorite brand. You don't see this "ass" over at Rage name calling pro ATi posters, now do you?
I stand by my OP that some people take about four benches and act like they are 99% of all that is out there.
You won't catch me here or anywhere else saying the HD 4870 or 50 are bad cards.
The way I see it is most people would do fine with a GTX 260, HD 4870 or HD 4850.
Blind fans from both camps are annoying.
I couldnt care less Lash, I call it like I see it and yes you are being an ass. You knew what your intentions were when you started this thread.

i bechmarked COD4 with the 8.7betas
all cranked up in CCC adn maxed out ni game settings 1680x1050
Frames,
11456
Time (ms)
180000
Min 31
AVG 63.6
MAX 155
i donīt know how good or bad these are but gameplay is smooth
as said before MAss Effect is a tad hard atm guess some new drivers might fix that issue
but visual wise i see little imporvement over the 360version
well tahtīs for now i do find this card very good as was the Ultra(G80)

Let's see who the "rocket scientist" is.
1. Read the bolded part of my unedited post.
Errrr....you're proud you figured out how to put someone on "Ignore"?
Good for you!
Next week, maybe crossword puzzles.
Sorry, call it like I see it, some new member joins, posts relentlessly about the glory of ATi, says they know my ways...sniff....sniff....I smell "agenda".
For the benefit of those who have better things to do than call out other members as you can't see this. I wish every fanATic would follow your lead and ignore me, although you're sort of defeating the purpose of "Ignore" by posting at me.
It's pretty clear I understand he can't see my post, as I said "you can't see this".
2. When you quoted my post, it became part of your post and visible to Xion. Thanks, and doesn't that defeat the point you were trying to make?
3. I possess a BS-Business and a BA-Psych, am a team leader at a software firm, and have been a beta tester for NVIDIA for 4 years. Unless you're a Dr. working on the cure for cancer, or an engineer about to solve the energy crysis, have you really earned the right to call me "stupid"?
Food for thought.......
I disagree.

I agree with the above.

well i have to agree havenīt seen comparisons since the flaming began actually radeonred is the only one who has posted comparisons between these cards
http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/ati_radeon_4850_4870_performance/page8.asp
here is one comaprison
but as said i think putting the GTX260 head to head with HD4870 is more appropriate when say Catalyst 8.9 is out by then the 4800 cards should have good driver support and stuff
here is another one
