Intel P5N-D (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131232)

G. Skill 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 800 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231122)

I just bought a MSI 8800GT off of sLippe also.

What do you guys think? I have read several sources saying Intel is planning a next stage of price drops in the near future? Should I wait to buy the Q6600 then?

For the fun of it, id go with an AMD system

you will be amazed how cheap everything is.

I haven't heard of any upcoming Intel price drops atm

I'd go for a P45 if not going SLI. The 650i I have is far from impressive.

I am tempted to just because of the pin system Intel uses on their CPU coolers. It pisses me off, they are impossible to get into the motherboard.

I think that may be my next upgrade.

P35 or P45 if you don't want dual gpu's.

If you want crossfire you need x38 or x48.

I've heard that Intel is cutting prices soon as well... there's an article on techreport today about it.

I knew I heard it somewhere. Might as well wait and see if the Q6600 drops anywhere.

Would it be worth it going from a 8800GT to a 4870 or a 280?

I justified getting a gtx260 when I found one for $300. I could have probably kept my 8800gt for a while longer and still been fine. I am really pissed about the intel price drop now that I have been waiting to buy intel for almost a year. ;(

I noticed a big difference at 1920x1200. See sig.

Bearclaw if I were you I would keep the gt and upgrade to a nice widescreen. It has been the single most enjoyed thing I have bought as far as gaming goes.

Well, right now I have 2 17" monitors and I love having dualview for work stuff. A nice large monitor would be awesome. I got my dad a 22" widescreen for fathers day and he loves it.

Maybe I'll just buy a new monitor as well and have 2 computers.... :D

I dualview a 22 and a 19. I couldn't live without it either.

Ya. It would be nice to go dualview with 22" widescreen but I would rather have a large widescreen as just one primary than dual. However, I like my current display. I have been debating this for years, lol. :headexplode:

People think that the push pin design sucks because they don't know how to use it. They tend to push the pin down first and then turn it to clock it, which is totally wrong.
