View Full Version : Infinity Ward Reups With Activision, Developing New IP
Infinity Ward announced that it has decided to reup on their contract with Activision publishing. The recently renegotiated deal may not seem like much of an impact from the outside perspective, but it has laid the ground work and kick started IW's future project, as well as the possibility of a unique new IP, that they’ll have complete control over. Don't expect any details soon as IW's director of comm. Robert Bowling says "it’s going to be quite a while before I can share any details on exactly what that project is."

New IP eh? It's still probably going to be a WWII fps. (nana2)

Call of Honor!

It's going to be a Wii Exclusive title!
Part of the contract was probably not allowing other developers to number sequels of the CoD series. Notice how CoD World at War is not being called CoD5. Supposedly IW broke off from EA for that very reason.
I have no idea what they'll be working on next though.

I'm just interested in their rumored sci-fi FPS.
@ JugenD: I very seriously doubt that's why they left 2015, as they only had made one game for EA.
they done past/present...would love to see them work on a future scenario...

Medal of Call Honor in Duty!
What is an "IP"?
Intellectual Property (i.e. Intangible property that is the result of creativity (such as patents or trademarks or copyrights))

SH64 beat me
Intellectual Property. In other words a new game based off of their own ideas.
Example. Valve is working on new IP, which means their next big game after HL2: Ep3 wont be another Half-Life title. It's going to be a completely new story, characters, art, sound, music...
SH64 beat me to it.
You gave more information though
