How many $300-400 mobo's does asus need? This is getting out of hand, in a couple months the extreme 2 will be out...

I dunno but I was wanting a Rampage so bad, but instead got a gigabyte P35 for $115. I just couldn't do it, and I would rather upgrade my video card in another 10 months instead.

What's the point of bundling an X-Fi card that only supports EAX up to 4.0? Why not drop it and cut costs some, since anyone who cares that much about audio is going to get a True X-Fi, Auzentech Prelude, or Asus Xonar.

It's just a way for them to drive the cost up. :) Btw. is that chipset cooler also a waterblock or why are those two things there? :D

Is that supremefx soundcard any good? Better than lets say the xfi xtreme music?

XtremeMusic at least supports EAX5.0HD, this ASUS version only goes to 4.0. Means it's more comparable to an Audigy2.

Can you physically tell the difference between the two?

I just bought one I'm going to put my QX 9650 in it And in my new 1 x Lian Li PC-343B Modular Black Aluminum Cube Case - Extreme Water Cooled Edition (PC-343B-WCE, I think 4.2 ghz is still good for a year. I know the nehealm is near but I'm going to take this for a ride for a year or two.(nana2)

I have one that came with my P5E deluxe that I have never used. If it is ok I may put it in my gaming rig and move the xonar to my htpc.

Ive had mine for awhile. the board is really designed for overclocking. The first screen on the bios is the overclocking screen. The board has more options then my DFI did. its more stable too. you can get crazy high fsb. allot of really nice stuff on this board.

tip

Dont use the tubes it comes with for the northbridge adapters if you use the adapters. buy some tubbing from homedpot or something. The ones asus gives you crack easy. thats how one of my 4870x2s died. Other then that great board.
