i had to reformat my brothers computer and now im trying to put drivers on it. the built in ethernet controller is does not seem to be able to use one of the built in drivers that come with XP. from what i can tell the motherboard is a MSI 865g Neo2. i went to the makers website and was only able to find drivers for the boards 865G Neo2-PLS/ PFS and the865G Neo2-S/ LS. I grabed both the drivers for the two board's built in ethernet controlers, but neither of them worked. i then decided to take out the wireless card in my PC and put it in his, since it didnt come with a disk as it was already installed on my machine i went to device manager and saw the location of the driver, it was a BCMWL5.SYS driver. i copyed it to a pendrive and went to install the card on his pc, by the way both machines are XP PRO SP 3. i installed the card and then went to add the driver, i went to the option to Include this location in the search and the location was the folder that contained the driver, but the ok button was greyed out.
Im trying to get this card going so i can use windows update so it can get the right drivers for the built in ethernet controller.
can some one help me in either getting the card to work or finding the right driver for the built in ethernet controller for the MSI 865g Neo2.
