I have read xxxxxxx site preview of the NV35 (FX 5900 ultra) before it got officially posted.

However it does not say the drivers version that they have used in the benchmark.

They have compared the FX 5900 ultra 256MB with ATI Radeon 9700 Pro 128MB.

CPU: AMD 2700XP+

In 3DMark2001SE
Setting: Default
Resolution/FX 5900 Ultra/Radeon 9700 Pro
1024/15178/14667
1280/13508/12481
1600/11874/10556

Setting: 4xAA and 8x AF
Resolution/FX 5900 Ultra/Radeon 9700 Pro
1024/11714/9692
1280/9682/7316
1600/7643/5592

UT2k3 - HardOCP High Quality - Antalus
Setting: No AA, No AF
Resolution/FX 5900 Ultra/Radeon 9700 Pro
1024/166.77/162.57
1280/150.6/117.8
1600/115.73/82.75

Setting: 4xAA and 8x Anisotropic Filtering
Resolution/FX 5900 Ultra/Radeon 9700 Pro
1024/119.48/89.33
1280/79.41/58.83
1600/47.69/40.16

The scores seems on par or slightly faster than a Radeon 9800 Pro.
If this is done with the 4x.xx driver, then it will probably even faster with 5x.xx driver.

Can you estimate how much the NV35 is gon' cost? Cause people hab been saying $500.00 but I think it would actually be $399.00, what do you guys think?

This is my guess:

Top end NV35: $399.99 (256mg version)
Mid range: $299.99 (128mg version)
Budget: $199.99 (129mg version)

No. It will be:

FX 5900 ultra 256MB $499 ESP
FX 5900 128MB $399 ESP
FX 5900 value 128MB $299 ESP

i think that when it first comes out its gonna be quite expensive... remember its the one of the first cards to have 256mb memory... think about ram prices at the store... what is 128mb vs 256mb gonna cost? alot more.

/edit: oops im stoopid

I think he's trying to say 256mgs :)

But anywayz, thats all im saying man, if the ATI radeon 9800 w/256mgs cost $399.00 and the NV35 costs $499.99 imma get the Radeon 9800 256mgs :)

Wouldn't you?

I doubt the Radeon 9800 w/256MB is going to sell at $399.

Whats that supposed to mean?

Also, do you know how much the Radeon 9800 w/ 256mgs of RAM is gon' cost? The same price? $499.00?

The official review is going to be up later .....

About the R9800 256MB, I'm not sure about the price yet, but the current price for the 128MB is $399.

Not actually a review, but they do quote the prices...

http://news.com.com/2100-1043_3-1000869.html
Graphics boards using the new GeForce FX 5900 will go on sale in June, priced around $399 for the regular version and $499 for the "Ultra" version with more memory, an Nvidia executive said.
Also a new bit about UltraShadow
Those include UltraShadow, new technology that will ease the task of creating shadow effects by defining areas of an image where shadow can or cannot occur.

Ah it's not too bad i guess but i guess you could say it's CPU bound with an XP2700+.

Sad? Did you even read it? :D
Pretty impressive scores IMO :o

Until I see a real review...

But if these numbers are legit, it seems to possibly put the 9800 Pro and NV35 on par with one another...I'm sure there will be some give/take here and there, especially once you factor in Catalyst 3.4/Det5...

At the end of the day, I think it will establish performance parity between the 2 outfits.

Of course, the jury's out on the whole IQ thing...I strongly suspect that ATI will maintain a lead there until NV40. Hopefully, nVidia has been taking notes in this area, and will finally step up to the plate and address this issue once and for all.

then, the GeForce 5900 ultra was benched with "balanced" (or "quality") and not with "application"

There is no new AA method introduced. :(
But they introduce this:
Intellisample HCT
The updated Intellisample technology compresses color, texture, and Z data even more. This should allow for even more speed at higher resolutions and AA.
I think the above feature will only be realised in next driver release.

The NV35 is going to be able to run in 32 at the highest IQ and be on par or just faster than the 9800.
But this time around the nv35 will have just as good if not better IQ. :)
The NV35 will use 32 vs ati's 24 and be faster.

That is what I think. I just hope the NV35 reviews use the new Det50's. I know they are going to boost performance big time. :D

I'm not sure about that. But it is most likely not with application mode....
