I was using my computer and working in a virtual machine when the screen started to flash. I got the driver not responding error but it was still flashing. Finally it BSOD'd. Now the drivers won't recognize the card. I tried the 6.8 hotfix drivers and the 8.7 betas.

This blows. This is the second bad one I've had. :thumbdwn:

He certainly has some problem when he says this is second one, more than very unusual.
Problem with hardware or he should get some help with installation.

Well, the first one was a visiontek and it just ran really hot, even with the fan tweak. This new one, I'm not sure what the problem is. I got the 9800GX2 I had back and am using it temporarily. The PSU is fine, ran prime95, occt, memtest+. Can't find any problems.

You have the exact same problem mine had.

I waited a bit after returning it and bought a GTX 260. Been working fine.
