I'm almost ready to order an XFX GTX260. For $299 I just cannot pass it.

But anyway, I was wondering, how does the card's length compare to an 8800GT in which I currently have? My case isn't very big and the 8800GT barely fits in, so I'm thinking if the GTX260 is more longer I'm gonna have some trouble.

And secondly, will my PCP&C 610W PSU handle the card? I have a stock speed Q6600 w/4GB RAM. I assume the GTX260 power consumption shouldn't be that much higher than the 8800GT so I think it would.

I had a 260 for a short time although I didn't measure it or really pay any attention I do believe it is longer.

The min psu requirement is 500w so you should be fine. It is also recommended that you have 36A on the 12v rail, so if you have more than one 12v rail you can add them up and hopefully reach 36A. My card just came in the mail and while I haven't gotten to install it yet in my Cooler Master, I sure hope it fits. The card is friggen massive compared to my 6800gt so here's hoping. I'm sure I will have to rearrange my hd's. You may want to check the rebate center on newegg for a better deal. I got my evga superclocked card for 279.99 a week ago.

That would get you the SC for the same as the standard.

An 8800GT is 9 inches almost exactly

The GTX 260 is 10.5 inches.

I was worried too, but measured and I have ~ 10.9 inches of free space so heres hoping I measured right when it gets here.

Something on it went up in smoke, literally. It worked just fine one minute and the next it wasn't working at all and my case was filled with smoke. When I saw the MSI 8800GT for $135 after rebate I returned it, got my money back and bought one of those.
