I have two 8800 GT's running in SLI mode. They run great until grenades, satchel charges and artillery start going off then they bring FPS to a halt. I have spoken with many others who play with these cards and complain about the same problems.

I am currently running Vista32 and 169.25 or .28 driver (the one for vista) I have also tried much of the archived and the newer drivers without success.

When I had XP installed and these cards, I ran with 93.71 drivers because they worked. Any newer drivers would not work in UO due to the same problems. Now because I have upgraded to Vista and now a 750i chipset motherboard the 93.71 drivers are no longer an option.

I have tried nHancer and the one cpu mod with no change. Still stutters.

I can run COD4 @1680 x 1050 all options on and get framerates over 100 so I know hardware is ok. But I still love COD UO but am saddened that I cant play it due to this. I really want to play UO again.

this caused by OpenGL version conflict.

you need to enable OpenGL extension limit in nhancer, problem is i don't know what that limit has to be set to. you need to look around for the correct value.

Is that the "11A8" value I saw posted elsewhere?

Just out of curiosity, why are you not running a newer version of the drivers then 169?

I had the same issues with COD4 and smoke/fog explosions with the 169 drivers in Vista. Once I updated to 17x I haven't had any problems on my 8800GTS.

Tried one of the 175.x version drivers when it was first released and COD4 would experience momentary freezes sometimes. Going back to the 169 driver fixed that problem for me and a bunch of people. I can play COD4 like a dream.
